Brag all you want Laura, I would too!!! Congrats to both of your children , hopefully your son will continue like this.
Kind of funny how the honor roll programs works in different school districts, in my dd's elementary school the grading system just changed this year, what last year was an A, this year is a B , it has made ir harder for kids but at the same time , honor roll was only A's before, now it's A's and B's with the difference of two classes, honor roll and distinguished honor roll, they also start doing that in 5th grade, dd is on 4th grade, her teacher said if she was in 5th grade this year, she would have made it to honor roll this first quarter.
Isn't it great when they are doing good in school??

Well, we have been threatening to leave him home with his grandparents in March when we go to WDW unless he got decent grades, but I don't know if that's the reason or if he's just growing up. I sure hope he keeps it up.

I am the parent of an underacheiving son who gives me no ammount of stress. A good, caring kid who does as little as he can to get by in school. We are considering going to counseling for this situation also.
I know it must feel great to your son to get all of this positive attention.

I know how you feel, Tigeroo. We tried everything we could think of over the past 5 years. The counselor said that sometimes people can only learn a lesson by failing. I hope neither of our sons have to learn the lesson that way.

Hey Laura!!! CONGRATS to your Son and Daughter! And to you for your perseverence!!! Doesn't it just rip you apart when "YOU" know they have it in them and they just figure they'll get by? I was starting to wonder if my son was leading a double life the way you were describing your DS.... so there's still hope for mine??? We had a conference with his gifted teacher a couple weeks ago and I think this guy may have struck a nerve.... we're starting to see some improvement ....
