Today I realized that I leave for WDW in 125 days!! I can't wait!!!
So I thought it might be time for a PTR.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Laurie and I live in upstate NY. I started going to Disney as a child, when it was only one park. Can you imagine that WDW was ever only one park??? It's crazy to even think about!!
Anyway, after I got married and had kids, I HAD TO start taking them! By then there were two parks!!
Now we were getting somewhere. My love for WDW grew..... and grew..... and grew!! Then MGM was created and the Tower of Terror!!! LOVED IT!!! Then Animal Kingdom came into the picture! Ahhh... how I love Animal Kingdom! I know, I know, I know... some people do not LOVE AK... but I do!! It's not my favorite park. Magic Kingdom is DEFINITELY my favorite. But AK is probably second. I love the serenity that it can provide if you want it to.
Over the years I've been to WDW with my parents and siblings, with friends, with my dh, ds, dd. Then one year we went with extended family, another year with friends and their children. Another time I took my nephew. A few years ago we spent 15 wonderful, AMAZING, days celebrating our 25th anniversary!! After my daughter graduated from college I took her for a week. Last January I took my daughter and daughter in law for a long weekend. (it was really meant as a WWoHP adventure... but we spent one half day there and 3 days at wdw). All of those trips... and never a solo trip... Hmmm...
In the past I have stayed off-site at hotels and with family. We have also stayed at Shades of Green and the Pop Century. Love them both!!! We had paid OOP for dining and also done the DDP (both free and paid for). So... what will this trip bring?
As the title refers to... I was planning a solo trip... then I wasn't going solo... then I was... and now I am a little bit.
Confused yet?? I sure was (maybe I still am. I'm not sure)
My dh is in the NYS Air National Guard. Last year he went away for 2 months to Texas, and I stayed home the whole time. I really didn't want to go to Wichita Falls Texas in August. So... no summer vacation
Instead, I took my daughter and daughter-in-law to WDW for a long weekend in January. Just us girls!! It was WONDERFUL!!!!!
But not the same as a week in the summer. (I LOVE Disney in August!!!)
So this year comes around and we find out that once again my dh is going away for 2 months from the very beginning of August thru the end of September!!
NO AUGUST VACATION AGAIN!!! How can I handle this two years in a row???
Well this time... I came up with a plan!!
Now let me explain... I had a plan... then changed the plan... then a friend changed my plan... then she cancelled her part of the plan... so I went back to the second plan (I think it was the second)... and then I changed it again to yet another plan!!!
So I booked the reservations for said plan... and then added a day!!
A little more magic never hurt anyone!!
So what will this plan bring??? Where will I be staying?? How many days are solo? Will there be dining reservations? What will I do with my solo time? Who's going to be with me on my non solo days???
I'll start explaining all of the plans (and start adding pictures) in the next installment
