I got back late Monday night from a 5 day trip to visit my parents in New Mexico. Let me tell you it is dryer than normal there. And normal is pretty dry! RH was 10 to 17% the whole time. As we left Monday for the airport we could see a huge massive smoke cloud coming from north of their home, about 20 miles away. It grew to 3000 acres from just 40 in less than 24 hours........ it's burning a beautiful area too, Fenton Lake, where I have gone fishing for trout with my dad in the past.
I had bad nose bleeds from the dryness the whole time I was there, and for a day after I got back home.... I never thought I would miss 85% RH, but I sure did!
