Guess what my sweet DH bought for me? He knows I want my own scrapping space, but can't have it until the kids move out. That'll be a few years. I've been making do with an open shelf, but it always looks messy.

Anyway, they are selling furniture at work and he saw a huge, metal cabinet. It is tall. So tall that we couldn't get it through the garage door without tipping it over. The whole top part has a roll top to cover the shelves. The bottom part is drawers that are for hanging files. I can't wait! I'm already making plans and organzing my stuff.

The only problem is that he is in a walking cast for 8 weeks and it is VERY heavy. It's on it's side in our garage for the time being. I guess I'll have to be patient and wait to get it moved into place. That'll give me time to anticipate how nice it will be.

He also got me my own filing cabinet for the garage. Now I'll have a place to store patterns, craft magazines, etc. out of the way and organized so that I know where to find them. I have shelves of smocking and cross-stitch patterns. Do I have a sweet hubby or what?

That is so cool!!! Tell him he scored points with me too! LOL!!:p

is indeed a keeper!....my DH still hasn't said anything about all of the scrapbook stuff in rubbermade totes sitting in the corner of the our bedroom...you think he'd get the hint that I need a special spot for it all! LOL...(I have a 4 yr old and can't leave it anywhere else!) LOL

What a great hubby! Hold onto that man! :teeth:

Holycow-

Seems as though we have the same "Scrapbooking area" my stuff is in rubbermaid totes in the corner of my bedroom too!!

That is awesome, Merry Poppins!! What a wonderful DH you have!! :)

I am very excited for you!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I also am re-organizing my SB room. I know how very fortunate I am to even have a whole room to myself. When we get the basement finished (hmmm could be years and years but...) I will set up my SB'ing stuff there permanently but for now I am using what will eventually be a nursery so I don't want anything too permanent. Lately I have been frustrated with my paper being stored in 8 x 11 stacking bins, my paper is getting bent etc...soooooooo.....I did some thinking and asked my hubby and our best friend to make a storage unit for my paper! I just talked to them tonight about it and told them exactly what I want and they might be doing it this week-end!!!!:bounce: :bounce:

I also bought this massive cork board last night and it's a great place to put stuff on so that I don't forget I have the stuff ! I do that all the time, buy something new, put it away and then forget to use it LOL :p

I will update my scrapping room page on my website when it's all done !!!:)

I have a feeling he mainly got tired of the way those shelves looked in our dinette. :teeth: It isn't exactly house beautiful. But he also did it because he loves me and knew it would make me happy. I'll tell him you guys think I should keep him.

Someday I want a room that can be devoted to crafts and scrapbooking. It's a big dream of mine. I hate having to stop and put everything away when I am on a roll.

How wonderful!!! I think I enjoy organizing my scrabook stuff as much as I enjoy scrapping sometimes lol!:D

Yahoo! Husbands do suprise us some times. Mine is building me a room on the front of the house. It is so nice I guess I will have to buy a crock pot because I can't see that once it's up that I will have time to cook :bounce:
