I'm getting my foot cast off today- I hope!

Today is the day! I broke my foot 7 1/2 weeks ago and had surgery 6 weeks ago. I hope it is healed and they will take this cast off. I do have to go into a walking boot, but at least I will be able to start walking.
We are supposed to go on our Sea World/ Disney/ Beach trip in one week. My kids know that if my foot is not better, we can't go. If it is OK, we will have to pack quickly this week. I have made reservations that can all be cancelled just in case. I truly don't know if we should go, it doesn't seem like the right time, but we used my husband's vouchers and ff miles for airline tickets and it seems stupid to waste them. The change fee is $150 each and I don't know if we could reuse the vouchers.

I am so sorry to hear about your foot. I had surgery a few years ago for a bunyon. I bounced back pretty quickly but I was wearing tennis shoes. I am not sure that I would be willing to try it in a boot. Not only are they heavy, they are hot too. There is always the wheelchair option. I am sorry you are having to choose.

If you are not willing to get a wheelchair or ECV then I would say cancel. Getting around Disney is hard enough on 2 good feet. I am sure you lost a lot of stamina and muscle in the last 7 weeks.
Those boots, as great as they feel after a couple months in hard cast, are not meant for distance walking and not comfortable- threw me out of alignment.
