condos aren't ready for 4pm check-in. What has your experience been?

Ours was ready and absolutely gorgeous. We didn't have a list of demands, like which tower or which view, so that may have helped. We ended up on the 6th floor of tower 1 with a golf course view and loved it. We stayed there last month for the first time and we are already going back at the end of the month. We will never stay on site again and we are AP holders. We totally drank the Bonnet Creek "Kool-aid" and it was fantastic!

We will be "drinking the Bonnet Creek kool-aid" :rotfl: for the first time in three weeks. I found an amazing deal on Ebay. $225 for 5 nights in a 2 bdr deluxe. I can't stop :goodvibes!! We don't have a list of demands so maybe we'll be okay. Thanks!

You will be amazed and you will wonder why anyone would ever stay in a hotel room in Disney on site or off ever again. It's fantastic!

Mine was not ready and I know other people were also turned away. I did see a ton of people be checked in though. I asked for a fireworks view which they said caused a problem. My issue is if you have to check out by 10 AM why can't the room be ready by 4 PM. My room still wasn't ready by 6 PM. At that point we called the front desk (we were at the pool) to find out what was going on. I told them to give me a different room which they did. It was in the same building, fireworks view, but on floor 6 instead of 8.

As long as it is nice out just go to the pool, charge some drinks, and relax. That is what we did. Granted I was annoyed that the room was ready because I know that if I wanted to check out at Noon instead of 10 AM they would have told me no way.

Even with this, I would definetly stay at BC again. I wouldn't worry about it

Absolutely no reason to be concerned. You know what the check in time is and should plan your day accordingly.

Condos take longer to clean between guests. You have a kitchen. A jacuzzi. Living room. There generally isn't daily maid service. Might take a few extra minutes to clean. They hire housekeepers for the entire day. They don't hire them for just 10-12. That means there isn't a housekeeper waiting to clean the unit the minute a person checks out. I've read it takes at least an hour to clean a unit between guests, maybe 2 hours for the larger units.

Probably not true of properties like Bonnet Creek but I've read posts where a condo didn't have enough linens. The linens had to be washed (central laundry) before the beds could be made for the next group of guests.

This is typical of many timeshare properties.

It's an issue of a family drivers all night and arrives in Orlando in the early morning. Can be an issue with any hotel but is much more likely to be an issue with a condo style property.

PP told you sometimes you can get a unit before 4. You may get lucky but don't plan on it.

SORRY I think i misread the OP. Is she concerned the unit won't be ready at 4p? Too many people checkout that day, the resort is fully booked then some units might not be ready at 4. Not much you can do.

Actually, if BC knows they have a large number of people checking out on a given day they should be bringing in extra cleaning staff so everyone checking in can do so for 4. People being told their room is not ready at 4 is probably the 1 item that concerns me about our February stay.

While I don't disagree that they *should* be ready by 4, very infrequently they won't be. This happens with just about any hotel/timeshare property---even Disney's.

I wouldn't make this the reason why you do (or don't) stay at Bonnet Creek.

Edited to add: as a prior poster mentioned, if you are willing to be a little more flexible about room assignment, you can usually find *something* that will be available by check-in time, or possibly even before, even if your pre-assigned room is not. This same approach can be useful at other properties, as well---I've done this at Old Key West once, as it happens.

We arrive the 28th as well.!!!!

See you on the 28th then at the pool while we wait for our late rooms to be cleaned! Ha ha! Don't stress about it, with a frozen drink in your hand and the kids in the pool you will have no worries. I think the problem is that once the guests check in, BC is so fantastic they don't want to leave and housekeeping must have to clean around the guests who are refusing to leave. :-) You will love your stay!

We were there over Easter break this year. The person we rented the unit from requested for us an early check in and a fireworks view. I figured it was the busiest week of the year and there was no way we were getting either. I called the front desk the week before to again ask. And then when I landed in Orlando at around 12 noon, I called again and said we landed and stated my requests. We arrived at BC at 1:30 and our beauiful 2 bedroom unit in Tower 5 was ready. We had a fantastic view of the Epcot fireworks out of the living room window, and the hot air balloon in downtown disney out of the bedroom windows. I guess we got lucky, but 4pm should be the guarenteed check in.

If all else fails, GO SHOPPING!!

We went in August of this year- showed up at 10am and our room was ready. Last year we had a late flight so it didn't matter. Enjoy the pools, go to DTD and have fun!

We've stayed at BC three times and also at several other Wyndham resorts and we've always been able to walk up to the desk without a wait and check-in before 4:00pm. But that's most likely because we always check-in on a Sunday, when fewer guests are checking-in.

Thanks, we are checking in on a Sunday as well. Hope that works for us.

We stayed at the Poly in Feb 09 and we did not get into our room until after 6PM. We kept calling and calling to see if our room was ready and they kept giving us the run around. It was a slow week, not a holiday week. The hotel definitely was not full and we had no specific room request. We ended up getting a days room rate knocked off our bill for the trouble.

So, I guess my point is that it can happen anywhere. Even at Disney deluxe hotels.
