I'm full of questions as we get closer

Seems like every day I think of another question or two.

Tent question - we have a large 8-person tent and a smaller 3-person tent. We were planning to bring the 8-man tent, figuring if one of the boys wanted to sleep out there some nights, it would give them room plus give us room for extra storage.

But now I'm wondering if there's enough room on the site for a large tent and our popup, which extends out to about 26 feet from bunk end to bunk end. Thoughts?

Dinner question - we will be there for 11 nights and have one dinner ADR. We tentatively planned out meals for the other 10 nights, but looking at it now, it seems like too much food. Now I'm thinking there may be leftovers or nights when people aren't really hungry and just want something small for dinner.

Do I need a meal planned for every night or should I pare the list back?

If this helps the list is meatball subs, tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, grilled chicken, kielbasa, ham steak, lasagna, nachos/taco salad (made a double batch of taco meat), casserole, and steak.

I'll put in my 2 cents on the food question. You do not want to be short food and have to buy meals at WDW if it's not budgeted in. Bring it!

Plus a few of those look like great leftovers for breakfast and lunch too! Ham, Kielbasa, steak all go good with eggs! And casseroles, lasagna, etc. heated up are always delicious the next day. Bring it all!

We always end up having too much food. And we always eat out at least one unplanned meal. It's the way it always goes with us! What size site are you on? I would think there is plenty of room for a pop up and tent, but I'm not very familiar with the full/tent/popup sites.

On the food - will anything go bad if you don't use it? If you have room I think it isn't the end of the world to come back with something to throw back into the freezer, or better yet have it as something to have on your first night or so back home. But if space is a premium, I'd maybe pare back a couple of planned meals and just throw a couple of boxes of pasta and a jar of sauce in the camper as well as fixings for PB &J or even just cereal - non-perishable back-up stuff. We never come back from a trip having used all of our food, but I like to know that there's always something to be eaten if need be.

We have a full hook up site and I requested the 1600 loop - of course we won't know the actual site until we get there. I guess I can just mention when we are checking in that we want to set up the tent as well and hopefully they can give us a site that accommodates.

We have the little fridge in the popup and we are bringing along our little dorm fridge too. It's really freezer space that we don't have a lot of.

As for spoiling, several dishes (like the pulled pork, casserole and taco meat) will be pre-cooked at home and brought down frozen. Those can thaw in the fridge and be fine for several days - not like raw meat, which will spoil if it isn't cooked soon enough.

We may also just need to plan a mid-vacation grocery trip as well - not worry about having everything for all 12 days with us right from the start.

For the original question - you will have plenty of room for the pop up and 2 tents - just might require some creativity - we have had a big tent, small camper, vehicle, plus a 10x10 shade cover all on one site - it works :)

Have you considered crock pot? I am bringing mine - even bought those crock pot liners to try and cut down on clean up :) have one great lasagna recipes that is super easy - and of course planning to throw some frozen meatballs in there one morning with a jar of sauce ;)

I am envious of your meal planning :) we are there for 2 weeks and I know there is going to be a lot of grocery runs :) I know when we get hot we eat a lot of salads and sandwiches - with the small camper fridge and short shelf life we will be doing frequent shopping :)

Have one - and the liners! Several things will be prepped at home and frozen for easy reheating in the crock pot.

I'd love your lasagna recipe. Will be my first time trying it in the crock pot.
