I'm Fluent in Disney Spanish- May 2016 TR *updated 11/16*-COMPLETE

We did it with on Facetime so my mom could "be there" too. Even though I didn't get a good picture of his reaction, he by far had the best one thus far. He was really excited and when I told him about MNSSHP, he lost it and was so excited. pixiedust: So maybe the gift was a good idea :confused3.
Yay, so glad he was excited! :goodvibes

Let's hope they have mercy on me :flower3:.
Wow, I can't imagine doing the airport solo with three little kids - good luck!

Unfortunately, James has informed me that he will only go on the flying ship ride (I assume he means Peter Pan) and the Buzz Lightyear ride :sad2:, so that should make things interesting.
:headache: Well....good luck with that too. :rotfl:

And thank goodness I did because Disney Junior has a commercial about the new stuff and James said we need to do Anna and Elsa and Turtle Talk with Crush.
Izzy saw that same commercial and has also declared we have to do all the things!

Our very short trip will be over before we know it. I have an ADR at Kona for breakfast and then we'll board DME to head home. My mom is on the same flight back as us by connecting in Chicago before she heads back to Texas. I am so grateful she did that so I'll have help on the way home, since Joe will already be home in MI.
Oh, that's really nice that she's connecting back where you'll be. Very helpful! :thumbsup2

So excited for your trip and I hope it's wonderful!

Yay, so glad he was excited! :goodvibes
thanks me too

Wow, I can't imagine doing the airport solo with three little kids - good luck!
I know Disney:rotfl2: has made me officially crazy

:headache: Well....good luck with that too. :rotfl:
We'll see I think he'll be better once we're there, but I don't think he'll be doing any thrill rides this trip

Izzy saw that same commercial and has also declared we have to do all the things!
:rotfl:Got to love those commercials on Disney Junior, also the reason we're staying at AKL in Jan.

Oh, that's really nice that she's connecting back where you'll be. Very helpful! :thumbsup2
I know so grateful for it :worship:

So excited for your trip and I hope it's wonderful!
:thanks:

Day 4: Part 2
May the Fourth Be With You:yoda:

We headed toward the front of the park for the Stormtrooper show, but got some PP pictures.

For anyone unfamiliar with the franchise, Joe is Han Solo and I am Boba Fett

Apparently I smell something bad :rotfl2:

For this show, they had picked out people that were Star Wars dressed to proceed behind the Stormtroopers. I don’t know if this is an every day thing, but probably just because it was May the Fourth. We got a spot in the front row center, which I was happy about.

This is not something I personally would carve time out of the day to do, but if you're a huge Star Wars fan like my DH or kids, then it's a must do.

To continue on with our SW theme, we had our next FP for ST.

We got Jakku as the first scene again, so I am guessing this is still being used in every ride and not being randomized. Tattoine Traders was packed after the ride. They were also selling the May the Fourth merch as well and the very first Rogue One merch. I had read about this before the trip and knew Joe would want it, so despite the crowds we waited to get it. The nice thing is part of the proceeds went to Force for Change which is the Star Wars charity for Unicef. I also picked up kinetic sand Jakku playset for James and Holocron game for Connor as well as this awesome Haunted Mansion/Star Wars attraction poster. Disclaimer-sorry for the sideways/upside down pictures I rotated them in photobucket but they still show up this way

After our shopping spree I wanted a picture on the speeder bike.

We were hungry and I had planned to snack while waiting for Indiana Jones, but Joe had his heart set on a tie fighter popcorn bucket. At this point it was pouring rain again, and none of the stands on that side of the park had it. We asked and no one knew what we were talking about, but finally at the popcorn cart near Starring Rolls, we got popcorn in a tie fighter, coke in a BB8 stein and a pretzel.

Little side story, this popcorn bucket is hanging in our kitchen and when I ask James what he wanted for his birthday the only thing he wanted was his own tie fighter popcorn bucket. I said sorry, they only have those at Disney World, and he says, that's okay we'll just go there and you can get me one. :rotfl2:This was of course before he knew we were going and the thing he is most excited about other then MNSSHP is the bucket, hopefully they still have them :scared:.

Back to the story, the problem was we still had to walk all the way back to Indie and it was still raining, thank goodness for ponchos. We watched Indie and Joe was bummed that he final scene got cut for the rain, but he liked what he saw.

After the show, we still had one more FP to use for ToT. On the way over there we stopped in the shop. There was this very cute Mickey on a beach that was on different merch. I loved the sketch but I didn’t like what it came on, I kept looking for it on a tank, but never did find it. We saw a store on Sunset that had the merch so we ducked in to check it out. I didn’t get my tank, but I did love this visor:rotfl:.

After our trip to the Twighlight Zone, we had an ADR to get to. So we said goodbye to DHS for now and headed here.

So we said goodbye to DHS for now and headed here.

We of course had reservations at Beaches & Cream.

We had a really awesome server, though I don’t remember her name. She was fun and very sweet. When we got there, there was two couples together that got the kitchen sink and they actually did finished it. This is something I really want to do with the boy when they get older.

I got a burger and onion rings and Joe got Patty melt with fries.

The food was okay nothing spectacular, but that’s not why were really there. We really came for the No Way Jose.

This was so so so good. I would definitely come back to have this again, covered in hot fudge and peanut butter, just wow.

After lunch we did the best thing you can do on a very wet, dreary day cuddle up and take a nap.

How lucky you were to be there on May the 4th! One of my dreams for sure...maybe next year!
Your outfits are so cute, and that's awesome you got to get all that merchandise! We were looking around for the BB8 sipper too and we got it from the same kiosk near Starring Rolls. I really want that Tie Fighter popcorn bucket but I barely had any room in my luggage to take it home, so hopefully they will have it in Disneyland!
That dessert at beaches n cream looks sooo good! Perfect for a hot day! Sorry about the rain but it's nice to have some down time :)

May 4: Part 3
We See thee Backside of Water

Once we were up, we got ready for our night at MK. I was really hoping the rain would keep people away and we could have a fun night. We actually took the bus over this time and on the way over we called to say goodnight to the boys. There was a family on the bus, a mom, dad, girl, and boy and we started talking to them about the trip so far. It was funny because the mom said she really wanted to take a trip just her and her husband, but he didn’t want to leave the kids behind. It was the same position Joe and I were in before we came only reversed, and I told the husband it would be so worth it.

When we got to MK it was still raining, but and we didn’t have anywhere particular to be, so I went into the jewelry store to check out the Alex and Ani bracelets. I ended up getting the castle one I had been eyeing since before our last trip:dancer:.

The PP guys were off of Main Street because of the rain, so we got one outside of the store.

I had one thing and one thing only on my mind at this point, a dole whip. I love pineapple, it’s one of my favorite fruits and it has been on my to do list every trip and yet I still haven’t had one. We just never spend that much time in that part of the park and line is always so long. Well I figured it wouldn’t be long now and I was right, no one and I finally got my dole whip.

Did I think it was worth the wait and hype…Heck yes!!! Item 2 off the must do list.

These guys came to join us while we ate.

We had gotten a FP after using our last one on ToT and knowing Joe wanted to ride Jungle Cruise, that’s what I picked.

After JC, we secured another FP for PotC, but had time to kill so we decided to check out the Tiki Room. This was a first for both of us, but we had to run because it had started to down pour and just from JC to Tiki Room, we got soaked.

While we waited I took a picture of my new bracelet to show to my mom.

We had to wait a decent amount of time because the show started right before we got there...you're shocked right :rotfl2:. It rained during most of the preshow, and it was coming down so hard it was drowning out the sound from it.

I wasn’t sure, how I would feel about Tiki Room, but I actually really liked it. It’s funny because when I got home and was showing my oldest pictures, he asked what that was and I said the Tiki Room and he starts singing the song. Apparently he has been listening to it on my iPad. I have downloaded all the Disney Classics compilations and I guess this song is on it:rotfl:.

It was time to use our FP, which was really useless, the park was empty. We got an entire boat to ourselves and there was no body on front of us or behind us. It literally felt like we had the entire ride to ourselves.

We took this picture of the guy with cats and sent it to Joe's sister who is a self-proclaimed cat lady, saying we had found her a new boyfriend. :lmao:

You know what’s annoying? Getting backed up by Jack Sparrow waiting for phantom boats to unload even though there’s no one on the ride.

It was time for our ADR at Be Our Guest. The rain had started up again after POC, so we had to run to get there and still got pretty wet.

We ended up waiting a long time to be sat and it was very crowded with everyone waiting inside that first room because of the rain. We sat by the suits of armor, but geez doesn’t their constant throat clearing and coughing getting annoying after two minutes.

We were finally called and were were sat in the ballroom. This is literally the only room I’ve eaten in and this is my fifth time, and I am perfectly fine with that. I love this room so much.

It wasn't snowing this night, which was weird.

Our server was very friendly, but very slow, thankfully I had good company.

We each got French onion soup to start. I didn’t like it, not enough flavor.

And we each got the steak.

Omg that garlic butter is amazing.

I was too stuffed for dessert, but Joe got the grey stuff, I guess he heard about it being delicious.

After dinner, we met with the beast to thank him for his hospitality.

After dinner, we decided to explore MK some more.

It was fun to be there, Joe really loved it, but I wish they did more then just have special merch out. I also wish they would bring back SWW, but that's happening either . I am not sure it is helps or if you know this, but the tie fighter's wings come off making it much easier to pack.

Yay for getting the gorgeous bracelet and bigger yay for getting the Dole Whip! I forgot how much I enjoyed Tiki room and even though I tend to doze off in any place dark, I like hearing the music in the background.
You dinner looked very good! I enjoy the steak and garlic butter there too! I think I had the same meal as you in Feb. Sorry the french onion soup was bland...I've had that happen before and it tastes like dishwater. Blech. Luckily not at BoG.

Cute pic with Beast! I love your t-shirt too! I wore a very similar one to BoG, hehe.

Nice having an empty park to play in! Glad you finally tried a dole whip, they are amazing!

Sounds like a nice dinner, love your pic with the Beast.

Yeah, it was a good start to the evening with those two purchases. :rotfl2:You must be like my DH, he falls asleep anywhere dark as well.

Yeah, it was pretty much like that, I should have stuck with my gut and got the potato and leek soup.

Cute pic with Beast! I love your t-shirt too! I wore a very similar one to BoG, hehe.
Thanks, I think I got this one on Redbubble. I love Redbubble

Nice having an empty park to play in! Glad you finally tried a dole whip, they are amazing!
I know I can't believe I have been missing this all my life. We saw them at Six Flags and it was great there too, but I'm glad I got my first at WDW.

Sounds like a nice dinner, love your pic with the Beast.
Thanks

Day 4: Part 4
These Wait Times are Crazy

After dinner, the park was so empty it was amazing!

Look at those wait times, just crazy :scared1:

Joe really wanted to go back on Haunted Mansion. This is so funny, because before we went in 2014 I didn’t get the hype about HM. Then I went on it and thought it was okay. Fast forward to when I went to MNSSHP and it was starting to grow on me. By the time we went last year, it had secured itself as being one of my favorite rides and definitely my favorite dark ride. My ring tone was literally the ghost host for a while and I would gush to Joe about the ride. He rode it once in 2014 and he didn’t understand my love of the ride. And now there we were he was begging to go back on:rotfl2:.

Had to take a picture of my favorite bathrooms on the way over.

After we got off, he declared this is favorite dark ride now. We stopped at the Tangled bathrooms on our way back to FL. I had forced Joe to watch Tangled, my one of my favorite Disney movies and he still didn’t get most of the references in this area:rolleyes2.

IASW had no wait and you have to do this ride once a trip.

I love this hippo, why does her left one blink so much slower than the other??? Anyway she always looks drunk and I love her for that :rotfl:

The personalization at the end is cool. When we were at the end and backed up the little girl in front of us got so excited to see her mom’s name on the sign. She turned around to tell us all about it, she was so cute.

Peter Pan only had a 10 minute wait so we couldn’t pass that up, seriously when does that happen other than right at rope drop?

It was Wishes o’clock, my favorite time of day, and since we were right there, it would have been rude not to stop and watch:rolleyes1.

Tink :tinker:

Honestly, the view is amazing. The fireworks are going off all around you and it’s just awesome. Definitely recommend and item 8 off the must do list:thumbsup2. As soon as Wishes was over, he hightailed it over to VotLM.

This is my favorite Disney movie from my childhood but I don't like this ride. I always go on because I love LM so much, but then I’m just annoyed they disgraced her with that ride:headache:.

I decided that I wanted to meet Ariel, her being one of my favorites and all. The CM in line got to talking to Joe about his shirt and May the Fourth and it helped to pass the time. It’s so funny, I was weird about meeting furry characters and ended up loving it and kind of felt weird with face ones instead.

Ariel was great though and it was fun to pretend for a second that I was talking to my childhood idol, for real. I mean seriously I was obsessed with her when I was little, she was my Elsa:lovestruc. After meeting Ariel, EMH started and we were ready to knock out some more rides.

I just read that on the Star Wars thread the other day - I guess it's still every ride.

:rotfl: Clever kid - just take him to Disney for that popcorn bucket, no big deal... :rotfl:

When we got there, there was two couples together that got the kitchen sink and they actually did finished it.
Wow, impressive! I could see if it were a large family, but just a couple finishing that?! :faint:

Love it when that happens! I had a whole boat to myself on Pirates at Disneyland and it was so cool...I could sing along or make comments or whatever I wanted! :thumbsup2

Wow, that is crazy!!

Very cute. I have yet to see that personalization - next trip, I'm sure.

It’s so funny, I was weird about meeting furry characters and ended up loving it and kind of felt weird with face ones instead.
Yeah, I get this. I feel like there's more pressure to make sensible conversation with the face characters. I can babble ridiculously with fur characters and they'll just keep nodding.

I just read that on the Star Wars thread the other day - I guess it's still every ride.
Which is nice for most people, but brings down the re-ridability for more than once in a trip or if you go often.

:rotfl: Clever kid - just take him to Disney for that popcorn bucket, no big deal... :rotfl:
Unfortunately we're reinforcing his thinking by actually taking him to Disney :rolleyes1

::yes::

Love it when that happens! I had a whole boat to myself on Pirates at Disneyland and it was so cool...I could sing along or make comments or whatever I wanted! :thumbsup2
Yeah that was us, talking and have a good time and not having to both anyone else with our silliness

Very cute. I have yet to see that personalization - next trip, I'm sure.
It everywhere now, we saw in on HM, don't know if I mentioned that and at RnR which you'll see later in the TR. Really cool addition, I love it.

Yeah, I get this. I feel like there's more pressure to make sensible conversation with the face characters. I can babble ridiculously with fur characters and they'll just keep nodding.
:rotfl:Exactly

:offtopic: We leave for WDW tomorrow
:jumping1::jumping1::jumping1:
We are keeping an careful eye on the storms coming through, but I think we should be okay. We are all packed and even though it has been an extremely stressful week, it will be worth it when we're back "home" tomorrow. Just in case anyone is interested, I will be Instagramming while I am there. I have posted tons of Disney photos this week, as a countdown to our trip and will continue to flood my feed with Disney pictures while I'm there. So if you like Disney pictures, check it out. usnername is the same ashw100, if not I'll be back next week. :wave2:

Day 4: Part 5
I hated it.

After meeting my childhood idol, we decided to head to Storybook Circus and ride Barnstormer. I felt weird riding with no kids, but there was literally no one there so whatever:rolleyes1.

Next, we hopped on Dumbo and went for a spin.

After magic hours had officially begun and the park was so empty it was ridiculous. Our next ride of the night was on the tea cups. Joe is not a fan but I promised not to spin too fast.

Next on our tour of FL was the carousel.

After that I noticed that Anna and Elsa had a 5 minute wait, which is pretty much unheard of. I actually really wanted to meet Rapunzel, but her line was 25 minutes, so Frozen sisters it is.

I honestly don’t remember anything about these meets, so I guess it wasn’t that great. I was so cold and my sweater was wet from the rain, so I went looking for a hoodie. I didn't find, but I did find this adorable Minnie.

When we left the shop, I spotted a guy I follow on Instagram. He is great and if you love CMs and Disney pictures, you should check out his Instagram, Guy Behind the Castle. I would have introduced myself, but I just thought that was too weird, so I took this pretty castle picture instead .

We still had one last attraction that we had yet to do in FL, Mickey’s Philharmagic.

I think SDMT only had a 15 minute wait, again even for EMH that’s pretty unusual. So of course, we had to ride. The ride broke down so I think we ended up waiting 20 minutes, but still that’s not bad.

Thanks to our nap we were still going strong at midnight and made our way over to TL to ride Space.

The lady behind me was too funny, her family asked how she liked it and she said, I hated it! :lmao:

With only 15 minutes left, we decided to close out the night on Buzz. Again we had the whole ride to ourselves. Being the only two people shooting, I was able to tell where my light was and did much better this time:cool1:. I ruined the picture by trying to show Joe the hidden mickey in this room:rotfl2:.

Since there was no one on, we asked to ride again.

We slowly made our way out of the park and we stopped in the Emporium, because I was still looking for a toy for Nicholas. I didn’t find a toy, but I did find this awesome shirt that I’m in love with.

We were walking out of the park at 1 am exactly and heard the music for the kiss goodnight. I had read conflicting things about them doing it on EMH nights, but apparently they do it right at close to tell you to get the heck out:rotfl:.

We got the bus back to pop right away and bonus we found a rider swap for BTMRR:thumbsup2. We got back to the room and were in bed by 2.

Have fun in WDW! The weather doesn't sound like it will be as bad as originally expected but still not good. I hope you have a fabulous time!

Hope you're having a fabulous time, despite the hurricane- YIKES!

EMH sound like they were a great time- those wait times are unbelievable!

That would be a strange feeling. Glad you took advantage of the opportunity, though. Fun spree of the Fantasyland rides!

Nice find! :thumbsup2
