Hey everyone,
We leave exactly two weeks from today for my first trip to WDW as a Vegan.
Melanie - a new vegan. I just made the transistion to a vegetarian last November. I had been wanting to do it for a while, and contemplated doing it before our Disney trip last August. I also just made the transition to Vegan at the beginning of May. I also thought I'd maybe wait to try it after this years Disney trip.........but was eating vegan at home and finding it was really easy to eat out and eat vegan so I just continued and haven't stopped.
Bill - Definately not a vegan or a vegetarian but he does eat the vegan foods I cook and is a very willing participant in trying new things. He has tried and loved a vegan version of chili dogs (vegan chili, smart dogs, daiya vegan cheese, hot dog bun), Tempeh taco's, grilled tempeh and many other things. I'm slowly working on getting our household almost vegetarian/vegan..........but for some reason he keeps bringing in stuff I'm tyring to replace.
Taryn - 18, just graduated and going off to College this fall (a 16 hour drive from home - yikes)
Ryan - 12, He is also very willing to try whatever I make. In fact he absolutely adores the Crispy Strips by Gardein (these are so yummy)
Here is my live trip report that I did last year until I got so exhausted from staying up so late I didn't finish it.

We are staying at POP from 7/17/10 - 7/31/10
Our first 5 nights 7/17-7/22 will be room only with no dining plan. Bill is in the Air National Guard so we have free tickets to Sea World and are getting 3 days worth of Universal tickets. Our first 5 nights will be just Sea World and Universal.
Our last 9 nights 7/22-7/31 will be at Disney. We got the QSDP this year. We are planning on only one sit down meal this year (Boma). We normally do almost all sit down's with few counter service restaurants thrown in there.
I've really enjoyed reading all the vegan/vegetarian dining reviews and can't wait to share with everyone. They have really helped me with planning on the vegan items at WDW. I'm also really looking forward to using my snack credits on vegan items, especially since some of the items I have my eye on I've never tried before. I can't wait to try a Kaki-Gori!
