I'm Curious.....

I am truly curious, here. How does DVC compare in cleanliness and upkeep to comparable timeshares? Many times on these boards I have heard from DisBoard members who own other properties that DVC is pretty much on par with Westin and Marriott timeshares as far as amenities and quality.
The only experience I have with any other timeshare is one week at the Westin Kierland Villas and it may not be a fair comparison because it was almost a brand new unit similar in age to the Grandstand at SSR. We did get a full clean half way through the week and the place was spotless inside and out.
What got me thinking about this was the new renovations planned for VWL. I was surprised that this was going to be done before that tired looking room I had this winter at BWV with the armoire held together with chewing gum and the two inches of dust on the baseboards and the TV that we needed a magifying glass to watch the SuperBowl with. I'm happy for the VWL owners but I am kind of surprised by the order of the renovations. I haven't stayed at VWL so they could very well be in greater need.
So, pulling back from my rambling, how does our DVC stack up? Do we pay less dues, the same. Get more or less bang for our buck?

We own time at 5 other timeshares besides DVC. Two of those are on the DVC/II World Passport list and the others all trade thru RCI. Annual fees at DVC are higher than any of the others which are in the $500-600 range per week for a 2BR villa.

As for amenities, DVC is superior to all of our other resorts in terms of resort activities. For cleanliness, DVC is at least as good as any and better than a few. None of our other timeshares have daily housekeeping and some even charge for housekeeping in addition to the annual fees.

The trade-off in our minds is that even though DVC is more costly, we are onsite at WDW and our fees include many resort activities plus transportation to the parks at onsite resorts and to the beach at HH. Those "amenities" (location and transportation) are not available at any of our other timeshares.
