I'm confused...codes/rates/discounts, etc.

I'm just so confused. We're planning to go to wdw in 9/08. When's the best time to book this trip? Can codes/disounts, etc. be combined? What is the benefit to having a Disney Visa card-I just got mine in the mail? What is my best bet for a Sept trip w/ 2 adults, 2 kids? should i be joining AAA? what is AP?

Hi from S.E. CT! I'll try to address some of your questions. AP stands for annual pass. Disney sometimes release Disney Visa discounts for packages and room only discounts for AP holders. This doesn't happen until a few months before the the date. So, I wouldn't hold out to book, hoping for these discounts. What alot of people do is book with a Disney Travel specialist (ex: Dreams Unlimited) or with AAA. If the discounts come out, you can sometimes take advantage and apply them to your ressie.

2008 rates are out, so you can get an idea of cost from the WDW website. Then decide when and where you want to stay and book it. If you have more specific questions, let us know.

Go ahead and book whatever youwant to book at WDW..then, if a code comes out, you can call WDW andget the adjustment! Not a problem...there is no guarantee for a discount/free dining/whatever...you just have to take your chances! I am just planning on paying full price and if I get a code, FABULOUS...if not, I don't freak out or anything!
Disney Visa...we have one too...you get on a mailing list and I already received a pin code on a little post card type of thing for a discount...but we had already booked a ressie with another code! There is usually some code, it seems, flying around out there...you just have to tune in the the DIS and pay attention to catch it! Hope this helps!
Other perks to DIS Visa...meet and greet at Epcot, if you have your Disney Visa with you...get a free pic and private/semi-private autographs and "qualitytime" with characters for 5 min or so...
