I'm BEGGGGGING someone to help me book a Disney resort through II? I'm lost!

There were five one bedrooms available this morning on II. 1-BWV, 2-OKW, 1-SSR and 1-VWL.

I just checked a minute ago and only the 1 bedroom of OKW 9/12-9/19 is left. There are also two studio units for BWV in August.

The studio units for BWV and VWL are still available.

Is there usually more inventory added on a Monday morning?

OMG!! - I am getting so frustrated. I just don't SEE what you guys are seeing. I'm so dissapointed to figure out that it MUST be a trade power issue. How can II lead me on to think we have a chance if we really don't. I have been checking every day and have not seen one show up yet.

I am looking under "exhange" and choosing the weeks I am interested in and then clicking the 2008 unit to exchange - that's the way to search, right?

When I do my searches, I choose "exchange", "all destinations", choose as wide a range of dates as possible, choose my unit to do my search, The next page usually has about 150 different destinations. Then I go to the "Florida - Orlando" to see is Disney is available. Normally under the "Orlando" destination there is a list of 30 to 35 resorts with availability.

I usually choose the unit I am exchanging before I do the search and I the search the way tomandrobin do it - all destinations with a wide date range.

moopdog, do you see the Marriotts in Orlando? If you were looking for a 2 bedroom minimum, then the Marriotts are VERY nice. Good luck.

YEP - I see the Marriotts. Actually we are going to use the Marriott Horizons location as a second choice to any DVC. But - my DH is not into staying off site at all, not to mention then we'd have to rent a car. I am trying to warm up to the idea though. Thanks!

Acutally - when I search my available dates and go through "all Orlando" destinations available. I see 50 resorts - basically ALL of the Orlando resorts EXCEPT the DVC. I guess that settles it...I can't get one.  :headache:

That's too bad :( I was picking up an OKW 1 bedroom this morning with a September check in date :( It was September you were checking for? Are you checking early enough in the day? Horizons is a nice resort from all accounts and so is Marriott Cypress Harbour, some people prefer them even...

I checked today as well and a week in Sept. was open. Early in the morning is the best time to check. I also check "all destinations" then click on orlando to see what is available. I wish you luck.

They work essentially on commission. Plus they really don't know. RCI is a LITTLE better in this areas than is II. Sometimes if you search by resort codes it gives you a different and better chance of actually seeing a DVC option, same for other areas as well. It's best to look between 6 & 6:45 AM eastern time but you have to keep looking during this time as they may load them after 6 and as last as around 6:45.

you probably already know this - but DVC units unlike the Marriott or others is generally one villa.

so instead of a bunch of lines - if they it comes up at all - it is generally one or two lines.

so they can be hard to spot.

if you are seeing the Marriott then you should be seeing the DVC - especially searching in Sept.

try what I do - put in Orlando, fl but search for the entire month - then go slowly and I mean slowly.

and as Dean has pointed out - do it early morning.

Pat, each resort only comes up once but for Grande Vista, it's really 3 resorts in one. It's actually by code and not for the entire resort. And given they come up in alphabetical order, it's not usually that hard to find them except for VWL which is not listed under D but under V. My experience is that Marriott's will usually show easier than DVC, that's especially true if you're seeing a lot of studios for Marriott's and not much else.

The best way to search as I noted above is to do so by code. At times you'll see resorts, weeks or units sizes that don't show on a regional or city search.

I called II yesterday and she admitted it probably was that our unit didn't have enough "power". The DVC's would show up for others first and then if not taken by an undeterined amount of time (anyone know?) it would go to me or whoever is in line next. She told me not to give up yet! She was sweet, but it doesn't ease the pain! LOL!!

Boy she must have had a good phone manner to make that call come off and you still think she was sweet. The reality is that if you can't see things that are actually sitting there, II gave you the wrong impression. IF your trade power is too low or your resort quality too low (likely both in this case), then they will let a unit rot before they'll give it to you. There are circumstances when the trade power of your unit could go up or the DVC unit could come down but otherwise no luck. The next time you'll likely have a chance is in flexchange time, under 60 days. Make sure you have the ongoing search and keep looking early AM as sometimes you can see units they could not match you to and thus you'd be able to get it yourself.
