I started WW Feb 14, 2004 & did really well, losing 30 lbs. Some where around the end of summer I became bored, discouraged, or both and since then I've just been hanging out, not losing but thankfully I haven't gained either. I know that if I don't get back on the ball now I will be back where I started plus some. It seems so hard, I really don't know where to begin. Due to financial reasons I have stopped going to the WW meetings which maybe is part of my problem. And also it seems so expensive to get started again as far as food goes. I can't seem to get going again and just the thought depresses me??!! Help me please, any suggestions on how I can get motivated to get going again?

Welcome back to WISH!!! I wanted to say how smart you are to come back before you start gaining weight.

As far as suggestions go, I know what you mean about the expense of losing weight. I'm on South Beach and even though I'm loving the results I'm experiencing, this ain't cheap! Since you can't afford the meetings right now, isn't there a WW thread on WISH you could participate in? I'm participating in several on-line support threads and it helps tremendously and I haven't had to spend one cent to do so.

As far as the food goes, I'm no WW expert so I don't know the foods you need for your plan, maybe someone else can help you there. I will comment on taking baby steps. Can you increase your water intake, eat healthy snacks, watch your portion sizes at meals and increase your exercise? Those are things that don't cost extra money and can make a world of difference. Another motivating force I have found is to keep a journal, post on WISH daily, joining a challenge is motivating too. And sometimes, you just have to "do it"!!! I think we had a thread on this topic a few months ago and we talked about how going to work and paying bills are just things in life you just have to do, whether you feel motivated to do them or not and we each make sure the necessary things in life are taken care of. It's the same with your health (eating plan, exercising, etc.). Sometimes you just have to do it and grumble and rant and rave through it. In the long run, you will feel so much better!

My weight loss journey has gone on for a year now and I've got at least another six months until I hit goal. I refuse to think about it long term. I just take today for what it is. Today. Then tomorrow becomes today and so on and so forth and before you know it, a year or more has gone by. If someone would have told me one year ago that it will take me at least 18 months to take off this weight, I would have probably have not gotten started. It would have seemed too overwhelming. Taking it one day at a time and breaking my weight loss down in smaller manageable increments makes it so much easier.

I hope something of what I have said helps spark that "something" in you to get going again! {{{hugs}}}
