Talk about your backsliding...
2 years ago I started a journey for healthier eating/lifestyle. I joined WW, doing the Core plan, and over the course of the year lost 70 lbs. WooHoo, right? Well, I'm slipping, and badly. I stopped the meetings, because I stopped losing weight. I plateaued, and started gaining...I think we all know the story. Discouraged, I stopped trying. And it's all coming back on.

So here I am again, getting myself reacquainted with this board, and looking for the wonderful support I got last time I was here. Looking for the exercise challenges, the weight loss challenges, and the camaraderie. So, starting the day after Christmas, you'll be seeing a lot more of me. Anyone else in? Has anyone started a January exercise thread yet?

Welcome back!

I am sorry that you are facing the gain, but so happy that you know you can come here and give/recieve support on your journey.

You know we all need each other and I do WISH that you will be finding that success that you know is in you!

 hi Ursulashadow!! :welcome: back!!

i'm not sure about the January exercise thread, i have been MIA for a few days with the holidays....but i do know there will be a Biggest Loser round 4 starting soon......check out the alumni thread if you are interested in joining, we are just chatting until the show begins on Jan 2

Hi ~ I'm with you Ursula! I lost 80 lbs....kept it off for 3-ish years, then started to gain it back [variety of reasons/excuses]. I gained over 100 lbs. I'm around 240 lbs now. I just put a new battery in my scale so, I'm guessing at the weight. Let's do this together! Sandra

Okay, I guess that means I have to put a battery in my scale, too, because I have NO idea how much I actually weigh...just know my pants size keeps creeping up. And I threw away my size 22's and 20's, so I can't AFFORD to go there again! Tomorrow I throw away the remaining Christmas cookies, and hide the chocolate (throwing that away is sacrilege...)

Hi Ursula ~ I just weighed myself. I'm 230 lbs. My first goal is to get under 200lbs. I should be able to to that by the end of April. Next goal is 160 lbs. Then 150lbs. I'd be happy to remain at 150lbs. But 140 really.

I've done it before and I'll do it again. I just need to get my mind wrapped around this.

We can do it together Ursula!

Sandra

Okay, official weigh-in...193. I caught it just in time, before I hit 200 again. I was 236 last time I started this, so this is a lot better!

My goals have to be small...I'm aiming for 180 by the time I start work again in March (not sure of exact date, so let's just say the first). My ultimate goals are the same as yours, Sandra...I'd be supremely happy at 150 (145, actually, is my "ideal weight" according to WW)...so let's set ourselves some small goals until we reach that ultimate. I need to go find a ticker...

Excuse me... is there any room for one more?? You ladies are singing my song. I lost 42 pounds during 2003 (I had the incentive of a WDW trip). I wasn't at my ideal weight, but could easily wear a size 14 and sometimes a 12. But after we had our trip, I lost my incentive for eating right. I managed to maintain my weight (give or take 5 lbs) for at least a year. Then I gained a bit more, but never gained back more than 15 pounds.... until this year!! Sadly, I have gained back 27 of the 40 pounds. And that is KILLING me!! I got on the scale this morning and saw a number in the 100's place that I SWORE I would never see again.

We are heading to WDW again in late April and I REFUSE to go back bigger than I was last time!! So I definitely have my work cut out for me.

So what do you think the chances are of losing 30 pounds by April 16??? When I lost the 40-ish in 2003, it took the entire calendar year (using Weight Watchers and not being faithful every minute).

I was planning on going back to Weight Watchers, avoiding using the flex points, and of course, MOVING!! (Time to dust off the treadmill.) Does this sound like a good plan?? Anyone had better luck on any other program? I have tried low carb and while I LOVE being able to eat bigger quantities, I really missed my carbs. The longest I have ever been able to stay low carb has been two weeks.

Thanks for letting me hop on board with you.......................P

Sure, hop in! There's lots of official threads out there, and I've joined in with the "Biggest Loser" challenge, too, so maybe with all this incentive, I can stick with it.

Of course, this week has really stunk. I got sick with a cold or flu or something, and no gym for me. Plus, all the leftover bonbons...well, I held to 193 as of this morning, but I have to throw away some stuff! Darn the rest of the family...they don't need this much chocolate, anyway.

So, long story short...I rejoined WW online, but too sick to attend today's meeting, and too sick for the gym, so I hold on for one more week. Best I can do is to fill up on veggies and fruits, and try to keep away from the Bailey's Irish Cream in the fridge (can't throw that away!).

I've been cooking up large batches of bulgur wheat, and buckwheat, and other whole-grains that are allowed on Core Plan...that way, when I get the munchies, I just dish out some of that, throw on something like a turkey burger and peach/mango salsa, or whatever else is lying around, and make a meal of it. I feel like if I've eaten a meal, I'm less likely to pick, pick, pick. It means keeping lean meats around, though, because if it doesn't have meat, it's not a meal to me. Although Boca Burgers work, too, and are microwaveable.

Anyone else have tricks for keeping the hungry horrors at bay?
