I'm angry at my brother (a little rant)

My birthday was on February 24 and I still haven't gotten a card or present from him! :( Two weeks ago, he called me up and asked me what I wanted for my birthday. It's a little late to ask me now! I told him to get whatever. I still haven't gotten whatever!

It's irritating because he always does this with everyone else in the family. One year, he didn't send my mom a Mother's Day card until around July! Forgetting a birthday is one thing. But Mother's Day? Does he have a defective calendar?

I think I need to get him a PDA and put everyone's birthdays into it. His birthday is in June, but I think I will send it to him in September just so he knows how it feels! Humwhahahaha! :)

I don't think a PDA will help, Barry. Sounds like your brother just procrastinates.

Tell him to contribute to that first ride auction thingy for your birthday gift.

I'll buy you a burger at Mels after T-2 next week. :) (You are going to be there, right??).

I agree with you, Barry.

I'm sorry your brother hurt your feelings.

I'm not very good about getting cards out for special occasions, either. It's not that I don't care, or am not thinking of my family members. It's more procrastination and disorganization, I guess. I buy them, I have a little calendar/reminder thingy that I wrote all the important dates in, I just don't follow-through consistently.

After seeing how this oversight can make you feel, I think I need to put a new effort into making sure I don't neglect my family and friends on their special days.

I hope you had a terrific birthday anyway.

My ONLY Son has YET to give me a Christmas or Birthday Gift! Yes, he has a job, but he is too busy spending Money on his girlfriend.

My youngest sister doesn't ackowledge my BD, my children's BDs, Christmas, etc., etc.... She just takes. I decided last year that I won't give her the opportunity to take from me anymore. I feel much less used now.

Shame on him :( Shall I go and smack him for you..? Kath took my reply, I was going to say the same thing...ask him to donate towards the First Ride Auction!! :)

Oh...and ...Happy Birthday, a little late, Barry ;) :)

One of my sisters is like that. She totally missed DH's birthday one year. Then, guess what? Same year, I missed her Dh's birthday also.;)

Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday to you, Barry!

Baaaaaareeeee...

Everyone can't be like YOU!

Barry never forgets a thing, NEVER forgets a birthday, anything, I think you stole the "thoughtful" gene from your brother's gene pool!

I have to admit, I'm more like him than you! I would love to be like you and my Mom, who never forgot either, but that's what makes people like you all the more special! :teeth:

And oh yeah, I'll spring for the milkshake with Dan's burger at Mel's next week! :p

Well personally I just wanna say,

I WANT TO COME TO MEL'S NEXT WEEK!!!

Happy late birthday Barry!! I'm a procrastinator too but at the least he could have called you.

Paaaaaaaarrrrttttyyyyyyy at Mels!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

Well as I was leaving for Dis Con gave my brother money to buy something for my dd for Christmas for me - one of those one day sales - gave him the money and the ad - not only did he get it - he went and spent the money on his girl friend

Barry, my BIL is very much like that! He calls and asks what you would like and never bothers to send anything or even call. I guess that bugs me more, don't ask if you have no intention of getting anything. For my birthday in February he called up to talk to me to find out what I really wanted because what was on my Wish List on Amazon wasn't "good enough" Talk about adding insult to injury there. I don't even bother anymore with him. I"ll keep remembering (and honestly I'd just like a phone call and that's it from him) but I won't expect anything from him ever again.

My parents are still waiting on last years Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts from my brother. He is the WORST! If he doesn't see you on or fairly near to the occasion - forget about getting anything. I think he must be banned from the post office or something!

LOL! You need to come Beauty! Imagine 4 feet nothing me between the twin oaks of Dan Murphy and Barry Hom!! :earseek:

A burger at Margritaville...yes!

A burger at Ritcher's...yes!

A burger at the Hard Rock Cafe...yes!

A burger at Mel's Diner...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! I'd rather eat dog food! :)

Now if Dan will give me a kiss, I might travel to Orlando. :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is bothered when a close family member forgets my birthday...my DD always remembers, not always a gift (and that's not important anyway) but she will "do something" to show me she cares. Last year we were camping and she and her DH drove over for the evening and brought a birthday cake. I loved it!! :D Now, DS, on the other hand...most years I don't even get a phone call. It really hurts, but I don't say anything because then he would just call because I told him to. Not the same. :(
