Irony at it's best.

The other day, we were out and I had an allergic reaction to something I ate. Well, of course it was the one time I did not have benedryl with me. So we went to CVS to find benedryl...no dye-free capsules so we go to buy the regular capsules and find out, they have parabens in them which I am extremely allergic to.
Went to a walgreens around the corner....same thing...no dye free only the ones with parabens.

SO it was getting bad enough that we ended up at my allergists office where she has a stash of dye-free benedryl. She than proceeded to look at the ingredients in the other benedryl and could not believe that they added parabens to it.

She just looked at me and we started laughing. Who would have thought... being allergic to the medication that is supposed to help an allergic reaction.

And of course, for some reason, around here, dye free benedryl is next to impossible to find...I went to 9 stores on friday before finally finding some

I never would have thought of parabens being in benedryl (but it's also in tylenol also....go figure)...you learn something new everyday

Woah, I am glad you are still here to walk and tell...
Real allergies can be life threatning.

Yeah, my mom has that issue, too. She got stung by a bee (she's allergic, but not deathly) and popped some benedryl. My dad wound up having to stick her with her epi pin because the benedryl caused such a bad reaction. Pretty scary stuff.
