My best friend of 26 years (yes, 26 years!) has just text me to say that she's had the all clear from her ovarian cancer.
I just wanted to share, I hadn't posted about her being ill because I found it too difficult to contemplate life without her.
so I'm a VERY happy girl.

you know what? there are very few genuinely good people in this world, I am very lucky to know one of them and to count her as close as a sister. She's my only friend that understands the Disney thing (even though she's never been) and works very hard as a nurse looking after mainly leukaemia patients through their last days. She has been there for me through 26 years of me growing up, getting married, divorced, giving birth and never, ever puts her own thoughts or feelings first.

a word of warning though: she was only diagnosed through trying to get pregnant and it wasn't until her strange swollen belly was diagnosed as having a cyst rather than a baby that they discovered the real reason. Ladies: please don't forget to check yourselves regularly and do visit the docs if there is anything unusual going on.
