We are taking our first trip to WDW next week since 2003. My DD is looking forward to seeing Illinations at EPCOT.
Where is the best place to view Illuminations?

It can be viewed from anywhere along the Lagoon. Just try to avoid areas where there are a lot of trees. Best areas are in the front of the Lagoon. Another area that is not bad is around Italy.

Two areas of high ground that I can recommend:

1. The top of the stairs at the Canada Pavilion
2. The bridge to International Gateway

Both provide great views with no tree/structure obstruction.

Also, be sure to check the wind direction. Don't be in a position that will allow the smoke from the fireworks to blow back at you! It's nasty!

Try and get an Illuminations Cruise! We did one last week and it was incredible! We loved it, the skipper Scott was fantastic and the show was awesome! A definate highlight of our trip!

If not the bridge connecting I think England to France is a good spot. Our boat was parked underneath it.

The best spot in my opinion. As you enter World Show case from the path from Future World, there are two identical gift shops. A good spot is between the two shops because you are centered on the show. Also the ground slopes up towards the back of the area making the view a little better. Unfortunately, that area is sometimes reserved for special groups and you must go else where.

I second that! We were in that exact location for Illuminations last October and the view was great!
