Just curious about IllumiNations. This will be my first trip to Epcot with my six year old daughter.

Is IllumiNations a 'must see' in your book?

Where is your favorite viewing spot? (I promise I won't take it if you are there in Oct! ;o) )

I think I read it is at 9- do they do it daily? We will be there in October.

Thanks for the info!

My all time favorite spot for Illuminations is on an Illuminations Cruise. Call 1-407-WDW-PLAY 60 days in advance for the cruise. It starts at the Yacht and Beach Club and they take you out on a pontoon boat and you sit under the bridge next to France Pavillion to watch Illuminations. I cost $125 for our party of 12 a few weeks ago.

If you can't do that, we like to sit by the United States Pavillion towards Japan in front of the funnel cake kiosk. There are benches there to sit.

Definately, Illuminations is a must do however you see it.

Illuminations is definitely on our "Must See" list every trip - we have usually made a point to see it more than once on each trip. Granted, we are trying-to-reform commando style vacationers. My youngest was 7 when we saw it the first time - she loved it. We think it is the best fireworks type show at WDW. There are many good spots around World Showcase to view Illuminations, a few recommendations: 1) a patio table at Rose & Crown (PS required), 2) the bridge between France & Int'l Gateway, and 3) the area in front of Mexico. Check to see which way the wind is blowing that night & get up-wind. Otherwise you may get smoke in your eyes.

Or you could alway splurge & rent a pontoon boat or the Breathless for viewing from the water!

Have fun!

P.S. It is shown daily.

Illuminations is definitely a must-see. Here's a hot tip: try to see it on a Saturday. Often during weekdays they only fire one round of perimeter "comets" instead of the three rounds called for in its original design.
I usually see the show from Germany, which is not as crowded as the Future World-side of the lagoon while still giving you a great view of the action. What you need to remember when looking for a spot is that you need to make sure there is no tree cover above you, or you'll miss a bunch of the action. And try not to stand downwind - while the laser effects will be more impressive that way, lots of the light that the fireworks produce gets absorbed by the smoke.

Illuminations is a must see and luckily it's shown every night. As AZKathy posted, the Illuminations Cruise is the best. The view is great and they take you for a nice ride thru the Swan/Dolphin area, down to the Disney Studios back up past YC/BC to Epcot. It's fantastic!

Otherwise, I would say Rose and Crown or Bridge at International Gateway/France area.

It is a must see....I like to go to Mexico and facing the lagoon just between Mexico and Norway is perfect! Plue the Margarita stand is close!!
