Illuminations Question!!!

I won't be able to speak to my planner until Wednesday, but I was wondering if you guys had any experience with this. I am having an Intimate Wedding in December and I love the idea of having the Illuminations Desert Party (even without my dress), my question is could we possibly have appetizers or some other type of food instead of the deserts or in addition to the deserts??? Any info is always appreciated!!!

Yes I believe you can have anything you want I (I am not %100 -I don't think this option is just for customs)a bar, appetizers etc....as for the cost I am not sure you would have to get a menu from your planner. For desserts it can range from 15-30 pp plus 12.50 view fee pere person and either $50 or $100(I forget which one) escort fee (per 50 people so in your case you would only need 1 escort) I believe you can do a bar package at like $25 pp or do a per consumption bar. I belive they have veggie platters, cheese platters or passed hor dorves ranging from $12-50 per person.....hope i disn't confse you

I was told by my EM that you could have extras, other than just desserts. The price (just desserts) for my 20 would be $1500 to $3000, depending on the menu.

I was also told by her that if we booked the DP, we would also be allowed to wear our wedding attire.

You can also check with your EM or GF convention services for a Wishes dessert party done outside the parks at the GF. It can be done inside or outside. Its around a $400 minimum but you can have others things besides desserts. I planned to have a dessert party there but my fiance's mother had unexpected heart surgery 3 weeks ago and it will be much too cold for her. The inside rooms were booked due to the cold weather. At least we still get to have pictures with the fireworks at the marina. GL!

Thanks everyone for all of the info!!! When I talked to my Planner the other day she said that I probably couldn't do the Wishes at the GF because that fell under more of a Custom wedding instead of Intimate. I would really prefer that to the Epcot, so do you think I could book it separate from the wedding and not wear my gown, as just a private party through the GF???

We did it as a private party, for our welcome on the Saturday before. We did tell them that it was our welcome party. They were very helpful and friendly. Our EM told us we couldn't do it, but we did. I don't think I'd try it with the gown but if your willing to not wear it, I say go for it and just 'forget' to mention to them that it's your wedding. The prices were much cheaper then the illuminations ones, and we had more choices, real food, appitizers, desserts, they sent us a menu to choose from.
