Illuminations from inside

I have read in books & also here,. people saying that a restaurant such as Matsu No Ma or France is a good place to watch Illuminations. But I have also heard it something you hear & smell (?).

Is inside a good place to watch? Or should I find a spot early around the lake?

i dont think i have ever "smelled" Illuminations!

however- there is a "soundtrack".

The best place to view Illumintations is around the lake in World Showcase. In my experience there is no "good" place inside to watch. People to stand on the deck outside of Matsu Mar Lounge in Japan, and I think this is a pretty good spot. JMHO

Thanks for the answers! I leave in less than a month & am starting to try to fine tune some plans.

I really dont know what they were talking about with the smells.... maybe the smoke from the fireworks.

That brings up an interesting caution - when you do pick a place to watch be sure you are not down-wind!
