My DH and I will be in WDW in September to celebrate by 40th birthday and would love to do the Illuminations cruise if anyone has room for 2. Any day between 4th to 13th would be great.

I have an Illuminations cruise on 9/9 but only have 1 spot left. However, if you're interested in a Wishes cruise instead, I have a wishes cruise on 9/11. We still have 5-6 spots available. Let me know if you're interested in joining us.

I didn't know the Wishes Cruises were still available. I thought they were only the Grand Gathering Cruises. What info do you have on a Wishes Cruise?

The Wishes Cruise (like the IllumiNations Cruise) is where you rent the entire boat at a flat rate. You can have as few as 1 to as many as 10 people on the boat to watch Wishes (or IllumiNations). These cruises are open to anybody, even if you are not staying on Disney property.
The Grand Gathering Cruise, is a large group of guests assembled onto one (and sometimes two) boats (and I think these are the boats that were once used in Animal Kingdom). There is a pre-fireworks gathering outdoors at the Contemporary Resort, then everybody boards the boat and a CM dressed as a pirate is your host for the evening. This cruise is only available to groups who have a Grand Gathering vacation booked through Disney.

I can't believe I missed a chance for a spot by 1 day! And even though you pay a flat rate to rent the boat, I thought there were minimums of people needed.Am I wrong about that??

Yes, you are incorrect. ONE person can rent, pay for, and be the only guest (in addition to the supplied driver) on a pontoon boat to see IllumiNations and/or Wishes.
