I have just heard about the illuminations cruise. Anybody been? Is it impossible to book? Is it worth leaving the parks early? Is it worth the money?

Thanks for the answers to the many, many questions! :D

I decided to splurge for this on our last vacation in Oct. 2004. The cost is $120 for the boat and you can have up to 10 adults on the boat. They pick you up at the Friendship Dock at the Boardwalk. They told me to be there by 8:15 to check in with the boat driver. He showed up a little early (8 i think ) and took us right out. We went on a tour of all the water ways around the the area. While you are riding around the boat driver talks about all the things around you. For instance did you know the giant concrete statues on the Swan and Dolphin hotels are mixed up? Take a look the next time you are there. After the cruise the boat is docked at the bridge over by the International Gateway at Epcot. You watch Illuminations on the boat and then they take you back to the Boardwalk when they are done. The view of the fireworks in unbeliveable. True it is hard to schedule this cruise, seeing as how there are only 2 boats per night. Be very persistant, I called everyday from the 90 day out mark. We flew out on a Wednesday, I got mine at 10:30 Tuesday night. Hope this helps.

Last year I called two weeks out (2nd week in March trip) and had no problems matter of fact we had the boat to ourselves. $120 Me, DW, and my two DB watching Illuminations. IMO well worth the $120.

Just threw together a last minute trip on Starwood Points going back again 16th of Feb through 22nd. :earboy2:
