Some lovely Disers from NJ have kindly invited us to share their Illuminations Cruise with them this October.

Just wondering if anyone has done the cruise and would like to share their experiences - is it as great as I am hoping its going to be ?

We did the Illuminations Cruise this year (was it only 4 weeks ago??), sharing with another family from the UK.

It was absolutely brilliant. You are so close. We had a great time and if we get back next year would definitely go for it again.

It will be even better if you get Captain Ron, who was our captain and an absolute scream.

Let us know how you get on.

I did it too, last year in May. I believe its more expensive now but you do get sodas and chips included in the cost.

You will have a great time, its very relaxing and you have a fantastic view of the fireworks. Enjoy!!!

It's a fantastic way to see IllumiNations, Jules. We've shared a boat with US DISers about 4 times in the past. It takes all the stress out of staking out a viewing spot and you truly feel like a VIP as you moor up with the other boats under the bridge (there are just 6 in total per evening).

Your captain will take you around Crescent Lake, imparting information and trivia, for half an hour or so before mooring up. Afterwards, he'll drop you off anywhere on Crescent Lake (Yacht & Beach, BoardWalk, Swan and Dolphin). Last time he even offered to take us to MGM for Fantasmic, which some member of our party took him up on.

The only small downside is that you are quite a distance from the Globe - we find we enjoy that aspect of IllumiNations better when we are on the other side of the lagoon.

We've shared 2 Illuminations Cruises with US families. It was a lovely stress free way of experiencing Illuminations.

we did it last year as a surprise for my daughters 9th birthday, we had the cake and the boat decorated, it was fab, ten of us all family on the boat, our captain was great, people on the bank were shouting happy birthday, it was a lovely leisurely cruise and we really did feel like VIPs, you will love it, we had never seen illuminations before as i couldnt face the staking out the position bit so it was doubley special. totally fab cruise, have a great time.

We have done this twice and it is the best way to watch Illuminations!

Thank you all for sharing, and for your wishes that we will enjoy, I will let you all know how we get on, I am now twice as excited.

Deb we have booked Spoodles for 9.50 so being able to get off the boat at the boardwalk will be great ... I just hopw that 9.50 is late enough ??
