Illuminations Cruise Quandry

OK, here is the sitch:

DD and I are staying at the WL.
We do not have a car.
We have an Illuminations Cruise reservation that leaves from the Yacht Club Marina around 8:15.
We plan on being at EP that afternoon.

Two problems:

#1
How do we get from EP to YCMarina? And how much time do we need to get there.

#2
How do we get from YCMarina back to WL after the cruise? By way of DD? yuck!

Any suggestions would be welcome!

#1. You can walk or take a boat. I recommend that you walk - it takes about 5- 10 minutes to get from the International Gateway to the YC Marina (average walking speed). The boat will take longer because it stops at the BW first. The IG is between the Great Britain and French Pavillions in the World Showcase. The Marina is at the end of the long dock that you will see between the Beach Club and Yacht Club Hotels.

#2. I would recommend that you walk back to the IG and then walk through the park to the front of EPCOT and take the bus or monorail from there. In fact, if you tell your Cruise Captain that you are going to do this, he/she may even drop you off at the IG. That will save you a few steps. The family we shared our cruise with did exactly that without a problem.

Another option is to enjoy the Boardwalk area for awhile after tyour cruise and then just take a cab back to WL. That will run about $15, including tip. You can also catch a cab at the BC or the YC. They are plentiful, quick and convenient.

If MGM is still open, I've also read that sometimes the captain will take you to MGM so you can get a bus to WL. Not much walking at all.

We just took an Illuminations Cruise on 8/28. The boat Captain asked where we were staying and how we got over to the YC. (We drove). The Captain had offered that if we had been using Disney transportation, he would have let us off at MGM in order to catch a bus to get back... I thought that was pretty cool!
