Went to Disney World for our honeymoon
This Dec we will be in Disney World to celebrate our 25th Anniversary with our daughters. The last time we saw Illuminations in EPCOT was about 10 years ago. I booked the Illuminations cruise as a surprise anniversary gift for DH (and 2 DD will join us). Has anyone here ever done this? What was it like? Was it worth the money?
Thanks!

We did this cruise 2 years ago, & loved every minute. We left from the Yacht & Beach Club, & our captain took us for a little cruise around the lake, by Hollywood Studios,& the Dolphin & Swan before the fireworks started, all the while giving us little tidbits and interesting info. We then got into position for the show underneath the bridge by U.K. and were given sodas, chips, etc. Prime viewing spot. It was so nice just to relax, and not be in the mob. We felt like VIPs. The only negative was getting back to our resort. Im not sure where you are staying, but your only way of getting back to a Disney hotel is to either go back into Epcot & join the mob leaving, or getting the bus to Downtown & then transferring to your hotel. Our captain said that if we had gone on a nite when Studios was open late, she could have dropped us off there so we could have just hopped on the bus & avoided the mob. I would just spring for a cab from the Yacht Club & be back to your hotel quickly & comfortably. Hope this helps, and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

We did it New Year's Eve one year. It was fun, and we watched all the people above us on the bridge elbow to elbow - I mean it was crowded crazy! We sat on our boat (we were on Breathless) sipping champagne (we brought, picked up at the shop at the Yacht Club and borrowed two glasses from the bar) and enjoyed.

One thing, on Breathless you do miss some of the show due to the smoke.

When we got back to the pier at the Yacht Club, we just took a cab back to our resort (AKL). I wouldn't use Disney transport afterwards.

I think you'll have fun!

Thank You both for letting me know your experiences! Now I can't wait! Thanks for the tips about getting back to our resort. Thats something that never crossed my mind.
