~i'll be home for Xmas but 1st i'm going to DISNEY WORLD!~ TR link posted!

Awww, thanks for posting old trip pictures!! I love looking at those! It makes me want to pull mine out. Which....I think I might!!:lmao:

I love the "Mama we're gonna go there" picture and story. That is one the cutest thing I have heard in a long time. :rotfl:

Oh, I loved this update!! I hadn't seen that picture of Luke looking at the castle before. SO CUTE!!! That could totally be an ad for Disney!! :goodvibes

Love the castle picture with Luke... I hope that my little man supplies cute pictures like that!

I am finally catching up!! We will be at DHS the same day. We have an early lunch reservation at SCi-Fi. I am excited about our reservation but nervous at the same time. I just have read so many mixed reviews about it. This is our last trip to Disney for awhile too. We will be starting a family after this trip. Although, I am still trying to convince my DH we need to go to the food and wine festival next year. We will see......

Love the past pics. Luke is too cute for words.

I loved the old pictures of your trips. They reminded me of my first trip to MK back in the early 80's. I remember that the characters were just out wandering and you just went up to them. I also kept a map that I had the characters sign because I didn't have an autograph book, not even sure they had autograph books back then. Great memories!
I sure hope you don't have to use the back up plan, but at least you have one. That's the sign of a good vacation planner.
It is a complete different experience seeing the "world" through a child's eye. You guys will have a lot of fun. I would love to travel to Disney with friends or family.

We did eat breakfast there, and the atmosphere and the characters (Daisy, Donald, Pluto, Mickey, and Goofy) all decked out in their safari gear were very cool. They have the BEST juice -- a blend of various fruit juices that our waiter called Jungle Juice! The food was definitely what I would call traditional American more than anything else -- they had some different quiches, omelets, bobotie, and pap for the African part. Definitely worth eating there -- we were full until our Yak and Yeti reservation for dinner (our breakfast ressie was at 8:00).

glad to hear you liked it! i will definitely be trying that juice. erica got some at boma, but i opted for a mojito instead. ;)

Awww.....glad I could help! You're going to LOVE it.....it's such a great time to visit!!! :thumbsup2

Good thinking on the alternate plan, just in case! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for no rain. Just about every year that we have gone in Dec. there has been a threat of rain for at least one day. However, out of all of our visits, we only received a light rain for about 5 min. one night and then it subsided. And last year, it rained briefly one day and soon stopped. I bet your stay will be great!!!

i can deal with a little rain. i have been very lucky with weather at WDW and i hope my luck holds out. every trip i've taken we've always had only like a 1/2 day of rain, except for the one ray and i took in april/may this year. we only had an HOUR of rain the whole time and it was while we were eating dinner at mama melrose. i hope we get as lucky this trip!

Dawn - it looks like something is on fire in the shot of IASW! When I first looked at it, I was wondering what thrill ride you guys had taken little Luke on!:scared1:

 i know! probably just the setting anna had the camera on.

I love seeing the look of sheer excitement and happiness on Luke's face -- too precious!

isn't it great??? he's such a cutie.

Great pics, Luke is just too cute. :cutie:

thanks! he's a hoot.

Luke is just adorable! I agree - you're going to have an amazing trip! And I say you should go ahead and dance while in line for the characters. ;)

well, the problem with that is my husband might decide to disown me if i dance in public in his presence. :lmao:

Cute pictures of Luke and family! I'm sure he'll have a blast this trip!

i hope so! i think we'll have such a great time.

glad you liked them! i saw that you started posting some on your pre-TR. i haven't had a chance to reply yet but so far they've been great!

I love the "Mama we're gonna go there" picture and story. That is one the cutest thing I have heard in a long time. :rotfl:

i know! when she called me and told me that story that night i just about cried!!!

Oh, I loved this update!! I hadn't seen that picture of Luke looking at the castle before. SO CUTE!!! That could totally be an ad for Disney!! :goodvibes

that was such a great moment! anna called me that night to tell me because she knew how much i'd appreciate that story. :goodvibes

Love the castle picture with Luke... I hope that my little man supplies cute pictures like that!

i'm sure he will! if he's anything like your girls, you've got nothing to worry about.

awesome! well, definitely say hello if you see us. what time is your lunch ADR for? ours is for 12:50. (you are talking about 12/12, right? i just wanted to be sure you weren't looking at our alternate plan by mistake.) ray and i ate at sci-fi in 2007 and it was good. i think if you stick to the basics (burgers, fries, shakes) it's really good stuff. i had a burger and he had the chicken sandwich and both were good. the atmosphere is really what you go for though. it's SUCH a cool place!

Loved your trip down memory lane! :lovestruc

thanks!

i really need to get with my dad and get pictures from our trips in the '80's. i think we went in 1985 and in 1989. i can imagine they're pretty funny! i can't wait to see disney with luke. i'm sure it will be a really neat experience for us and good practice!

before i continue with an update on our past trips, i have to share this. i went by anna's house last night to return a movie i had borrowed and she and luke were drawing pictures on this little notepad he had. well, as anna and i always do, we started gabbing and lost track of time. as we were talking, luke was bringing me his drawings. finally i looked in my lap and i had about 30 different little drawings of random stuff. i asked him what i was supposed to do with all these and he said, "i want to give them to mickey mouse at disney world." i said, "well, okay. you can do that." he said, "no, dawn.......you have to give them to him for me!!!!!!!" :lmao: he's such a cutie.

okay......on with the update.

so the next trip down memory lane is the trip ray and i took in early may of 2007. it was a trip for our 5th wedding anniversary. neither of us had been to disney world in over 15 years, so we were both really excited. we only stayed 4 days, but it was four days filled with fun and i couldn't wait to get back! here are some pictures.

here we are at sci-fi dine-in theater. we will be returning there this trip and i'm excited about it!

at epcot - this was the day that ray decided he hated epcot! i'm glad he changed his mind this past trip (of course alcohol could have played a part in that! :rotfl: )

image11.jpg

my first time meeting tink!

image16.jpg

i was lucky enough to run into my favorite princess that day! (although she does kind of look a little inebriated here. i guess everyone drinks at epcot!)

image101.jpg

we loved animal kingdom...

image25.jpg

image32.jpg

EE officially became my favorite ride that day. although ToT has since tied with EE. i rode ToT on that trip but for some reason really didn't start loving it as much as EE until my second trip in 2007.

010.jpg

we had dinner at narcoosee's that night and that was the first time i saw wishes in person - it was magical! :cloud9:

107.jpg

our 4th day was a full day of MK.....what we had both been waiting for! this was the best day of the trip and the day i decided that i'd be back to WDW as soon as i could manage!

image43.jpg

me celebrating my un-birthday with one of my favorites - alice and the mad hatter!

ray tried to pull the sword from the stone.....no luck.

i love this picture!

i even got ray to get a picture with tink!

we have made it a tradition now that we take pics with the statues at the hub at MK on our last day......

ray loves him some pluto......

me after i got got "pixied" by a dream team member......the closest i've ever come to winning a dream! you can see the pixie dust in my hair. i still have that pixie dust in an envelope - i picked every piece out of my hair and saved it that night when i got back to the hotel room!

200.jpg

so that is a short look at our may 2007 trip. i will be back with my next trip later, which was in september 2007.

before i go, i have to mention something. tomorrow, october 20th, is the one-year anniversary of chris and anna's wedding!!! :lovestruc she doesn't read the DISboards (although i'm trying to change that!), but i will probably end up showing her any well wishes you guys post. so feel free!

they got married at miramar beach near destin last year. it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding and i'll share some pics with you (of course!). what was so cool is that the monarch butterflies were migrating to mexico and they were EVERYWHERE! you don't see them in these pictures but they were all over the place. one even landed on anna's finger while she and chris were taking post-ceremony pictures and the photographer got a few shots of it. i wish i could show you but the pics are copyrighted on her site.

it was such a gorgeous day!

luke was the ring bearer. he did this job well for about, oh, 30 seconds. then he decided he wanted to play in the sand, which anna said was fine as long as he wasn't in the ocean!

Picture063.jpg

i was the videographer for the ceremony. it's pretty much impossible to make headgear look glamorous!

this is my favorite picture!

Picture133-2.jpg

amanda, the photographer, took some pictures of everyone at the wedding because there were only about 30 people total. i love how these turned out, especially the black and white one. i bought a big one of it and had it framed!

hope you guys enjoyed. i'll be back later this week with another update of trips past!

What a gorgeous pic that black and white one is!

I'm looking forward to your PTR... I can't decide between Halloween and Christmas at WDW next year so I'm living vicariously through everyone else in the meantime!

Congratulations to Anna and Chris!

I remember last year when we hadn't "met" Anna yet, and you were telling us about going to your friends' wedding - and then those beautiful pics! Thanks fore sharing again - more fun now that we have gotten to "know" them.

Great pics of trips from the past. I love the longer hair, very pretty. I will have to go look at my childhood pics at Disney. I remember an Orange bird character who I just fell in love with.

Happy Anniversary Anna & Chris !!! May you share many more romantic days and nights on the beach. :bride: :love2: :groom:
Your wedding was beautiful on the beach. Luke was so handsome with his cool sunglasses on. I wish you all the best...Cheers !!

Saw you over on Heather's trippie....

Our December trips cross over for a couple of days. My trip starts on the 13th. I can not wait. The condo looks great. Lots more space than the resorts at Disney!

My fave pics in here so far...the one of you at Epcot with Tink in front of the PP topiary...and the Dumbo ride. :goodvibes So cute!

I hope to be drinking at Epcot this time! I can't wait to see all the countries decorated! Here's to great weather in December! :wizard:

Dawn those are such great pictures!! You and Ray take good pictures all the time!! I have never seen a bad one! :goodvibes I love the one at Narcoosee's and on Dumbo!!!

Oh my gosh, Anna's wedding pictures look so good!! She was such a beautiful bride!!!
Happy Anniversary Anna and Chris!!
Luke is such a doll!!

I love seeing all the pictures. They're always so good. Seriously, do you ever take a bad picture? :goodvibes Seeing you celebrate your anniversary makes me excited for January. My DH and I are celebrating 13 years by going to WDW without the kids. I saw your pics of Narcoosee's. We're eating there for the first time also.
Love the wedding pictures. I agree that the one with all three of them holding hands is my favorite also. :)
 Happy Anniversary Anna and Chris!!!
May there be many, many more to come!!!

Great Pics!!! I'm jealous that Anna got to go barefoot to her wedding! ;) No sore feet for her. The black and white ones are great.
