so who else froze their tooshies off trick-or-treating tonight???? it was 44 degrees here! i know that doesn't seem cold to some of you but i live in georgia and it is to me! i've been here since 1997 and i don't think it's ever been that cold on halloween. i had my winter coat on! anyway, hope you guys had a fun and safe halloween!

Wow that is cold! It was like 55 degrees or so here and I live on Long Island, I think our locations might have switched temeperatures

Happy Day After Halloween !!! We had warmer temps yeaterday, so I can't complain either. I guess mother nature gave us a break since we got snow earlier this week. Yuck !!
I loved the pics of puppy at the festival, glad he found a wonderful home and you can see him from time to time. You are so kind to take care of him, you are a good person.
What a horrible time you had with your computer. You have a super hero for a husband, who saved the day. Lucky girl, I had to buy a new computer earlier this year. We are not that IT smart. I did get a laptop instead, so it turned out better in the end.
Too bad about missing part of Disney on Ice. I remember how difficult ATL was to drive in. My SIL lives there and I don't know how she does it every day? I used to get so confused with whether I was going to be merging from the right or left. I always drive in the middle just in case. Crazy, I'm glad I don't live there.

Ohio was nice. The girls were princesses with shirts underneath, but no coats. Luke even sat outside with me to pass out candy. It is over 70 degrees here today.

Dawn guess what? My work get tickets for things and this year it's Disney on Ice in January. I am so taking the kids or at least my DD. She'll love it but I think my boys would love it too so we all might be going. Anyway it was around 56 degres here yesterday but only the adults had a coat on, actually mine was a windbreaker. It was nice to have a warm Halloween for once. Glad the computer got fixed, yeah for Ray . I have a question for ya but I'll pm you about it.

I'm glad Ray was able to get the important stuff off, and that he knows how to do that stuff. It could have easily cost $100 to recover/reinstall all of the data. I'm also glad that the hard drive itself didn't crash!

i know....i'm very lucky! the external hard drive he was using ended up messing up though. something about the arm wasn't working??? but he was able to take mostly everthing off of it and put it on an older desktop that we have. i only completely lost like 10 pictures. now i just have to transfer all that stuff back on my laptop hard drive!

while in college me and DW saw monster inc on ice, and finding nemo on ice, both very good shows, and also saw mickeys magic show a few years ago...that was pretty good as well..helps ease the disney blues in between trips.

I think we got home to early to be in the cold! Hollie decided that she was done and she wanted to go home and watch a movie!!

oh, i'm glad i don't have to do it every day! i usually can find my way down there pretty well, but we just got turned around that day. yes, my husband is a super hero! i got a card that told him that yesterday. glad you guys had some good weather for a change!

so i FINALLY have all my disney on ice pictures uploaded. i have lots of pictures, so be prepared for a few posts to fit them all in!

the show was at 4:00 last sunday. we left my house around 2:30, which is plenty of time to get to phillips arena, park and get inside the venue on a sunday afternoon. well, we made good time UNTIL we got downtown. the exit for the arena was completely backed up and traffic was sitting still. so we got off at a different exit and went a roundabout way to the arena, where we got turned around and when we eventually got back to the arena area, we were sitting in bumper to bumper traffic because the breast cancer 3-day event was going on that day at centennial park, which is right next to the arena. it was getting closer to showtime (right at 4:00, to be exact) and so chris, luke and i ended up getting out of the car in order to walk to the arena while anna sat in traffic and eventually parked the car. little did we know it was going to be quite a hike up hill past centennial park and around another block to get to the entrance.....and me in heels! my feet were NOT happy! and the worst part is that once we got up to the entrance, anna was there waiting on us!

anyway, we made our way quickly to our seats and came in right as the lion king portion was starting. i texted memom because i knew she had seen the show before and said something like, "we're late. lion king is on. what did we miss?" she replied with, "our show was cars, the little mermaid, then the lion king, but hopefully yours is different." i asked the woman next to me during a scene change what we'd missed and she said cars and the little mermaid. i was so upset but i didn't wallow in it because there's nothing i could do at that point. no one could control the traffic.

anyway, anna and i both took lots of pics so enjoy! if you read memom's TR you have seen a lot of this already.

after the lion king was over the lights came on and we were at intermission. sorry, memom - no zamboni pictures! i had to do go to the ladies room!

i got a tinker bell slushie and luke got some cotton candy with a lightning mcqueen hat. here we are during intermission. i was still peeved but i didn't want to ruin the fun!

after the lights went back down, mickey and the gang came out in their little red car. so exciting!!!!

then it was time for the tinker bell portion of the show! i have to say i was excited about this because tink's always been a favorite of mine, even when i was a kid. although i will say that if you're going to see this show, go buy the movie first! the movie wasn't out yet the day we saw this. i bought it yesterday and watched it last night and now this portion of the show makes WAY more sense to me! not that i didn't enjoy it - i just wasn't familiar with what i was watching. it was all very pretty though! and the movie, by the way, is really good. i figured it would be cheesy, but it's not and it's actually got some humor in it too. and the artwork in it is really pretty - i want to move to pixie hollow and live with terrence, the keeper of the pixie dust. the area he stays in is so pretty!

anyway, on with the show! here is tinker bell right after she's born from a baby's first laugh...

the fairy queen comes down to explain that tinker bell has to figure out her talent....

rosetta, a garden fairy....

silvermist, a water fairy....

iridessa, a light fairy....

tink figures out she's a tinker fairy!

meeting fairy mary, who is sort of the leader of the tinker fairies....

the tinker fairies show tink what it means to be one of them....

tink learns that the tinker fairies don't go to the mainland to bring spring, so she decides she doesn't want to be a tinker fairy. here she's telling her friends that she wants help to try to be another sort of fairy.

iridessa tries to teach her to be a light fairy by giving lightening bugs their glow....

but it doesn't work out too well. tink just doesn't have the touch. by the way, one of the bugs backsides didn't light up!

this is videa (not sure if that's spelled right). she's a fast flying fairy and is not very nice.

anna looked at me and said, "is that amy winehouse???" these aren't very good pictures of her so you probably can't tell, but she did resemble ms. winehouse, which is not exactly a compliment!

videa convinces tink that if she can catch the sprinting thistles, then she can be a garden fairy. so she tries....

and fails.....

the chase caused so much damage that it ruined all the work the fairies had done in preparing for spring and now spring won't come. it's all tink's fault and she's devastated. but then terrence, the keeper of the pixie dust, convinces her that she should embrace her talent and be proud of who she is....

terrence and tink had a solo....

tink then comes up with an idea of how to bring spring. now they don't really explain this in the ice show, but when you see the movie you will it's because she invents all kinds of contraptions to help speed up the preparations....thus making her a true "tinker" fairy.

then mickey and the gang join in the fun!

as we walked down towards centennial park anna saw the sun peeking through the trees and wanted to get a "pretty" picture, but i think i kinda ruined it!

the fountains at centennial park were on and of course luke wanted to run through them, so chris took him down there so wouldn't get completely soaked.....

an announcement came over the speakers and told everyone to exit the fountain area, that the show was getting ready to begin. so we stuck around to see what that was all about.

it ended up being a water show to music - pretty cool! luke was in a dancing mood, which is ALWAYS entertaining!

pictures just don't do him justice, so i uploaded a couple of videos i took with my camera. this is him dancing to "under the sea," kind of appropriate for the day! oh, and listen for him to say, "if we don't get outta here, we're gonna have to sleep in a hotel!!!!!!" he kept talking about staying in a hotel the entire time we were downtown. just very random, but hilarious!

after that we left and drove over to a place on peachtree street called fresh to order. it's a little place that has REALLY good food for a reasonable price - you go up to the counter to order and someone brings it to you, so you're not just paying on the wait staff. anyway, i of course took food porn pics. i didn't use the flash though as to not be totally obnoxious. if you ever get a chance to eat here, go! it was really, really good. i think my steak was like $9

luke's kids chicken tenders, mac & cheese and carrots - and that yellow stuff on the right is honey mustard....

anna's pork tenderloin with some sort of mango relish and sweet potatoes....

chris's chicken and wild mushrooms and garlic mashed potatoes....

my bourbon steak, greens with balsamic dressing and sweet potatoes....

i tasted everyone's food and it was all SO GOOD!

so that's our night. as much as i hated missing the beginning of the show, i really enjoyed what i saw. i would recommend it to you if you're thinking of going!!!!

Dawn! That is cold for you! We usually have 32 and freezing rain for Halloween, but we had 50 and an unusually warm wind. I hope it warms up againg for you.

I'm glad you enjoyed the part of the show you did see. I hate that Luke missed cars, but it was good that he didn't know better. That little Tinkerbell flower hat that sticks out in some of your pictures is what Brooklynn looked like for a while. She put it off and on a few times. At one point, she saw the little girl in front of her wearing one, and she got a funny look on her face and said, "My hat?" in a 'why does that little girl have my hat' voice. Then we showed her that hers was under the seat, and she got it out and put it on for a while.

The food looks good, and water fountains and music always make for fun, so the day was still a hit, I know!

I'm glad Ray got the computer fixed and you lost only a few pictures. I'm sorry you had to lose any, but maybe Erica, um, Eureka?, has some of the ones you lost.

It does make a difference when the sun goes down, doesn't it?

Love the pics......I have never been to an ice show, not even as a kid! I will have to see if it is coming to Rochester!
