We're going on vacation this week...bahamas...no TV/computer/phone/etc... going to be very relaxing! Does anyone know of a 'book compilation' of crosswords similar in difficulty to what's in People each week? hehe

Hey, enjoy your vacation. The Bahamas sounds wonderful right about now. I love crossword puzzles too! Most stores carry those crossword books and they aren't too difficult. Around my neck of the woods I see them at Brooks Pharmacy or CVS etc... Hey, isn't it nice that that's all you have to worry about at this point in time?

Skip crosswords -- get Sudoku. We grabbed a book of them on our last trip and DW and I were both instantly hooked. DW, in fact, ended up doing them literally through an entire 10 hour flight last week.

Yeah, I'm gonna scope out Barnes and Noble tonight...I was just wondering if anyone knew of any off the top of their head.

ya know - I've tried them online...guess I really never got the hang of them.

I consider myself a fairly intelligent, well rounded individual. I am good at most word games. I HATE crosswords. Even the super easy ones I get frustrated with. The only one I can do on a consistent basis is the Puzzler in People as well! I have yet to find a similar one.

I do fill ins now. Similar to a crossword, but more of a word game. Word searches are mind numbingly boring, but fill ins require some thinking. I also sometimes buy the multi puzzle books for some variety.

I can't do crosswords but I like the Find a Word ones where you circle the word... those are the only ones I can do - People ones and TV Guide too

I go through crossword puzzle books like water. It's my "thing" I guess.

The best ones (not too hard but I'm an experienced puzzler - although still not Sunday New York Times level) are the big "Omnibus" ones (available at Borders and Barnes and Noble). I like them because they come in a nice hardcover ring-bound book which makes them easy for plane travel or for doing at the beach or pool.

I think the publisher may be Penny Press. If you can find a "USA Today" book, they are usually pretty user-friendly.

My one hint - try to get a book with the puzzle and clues all on one page, it's so much easier not to have to open the book completely on planes. Enjoy!

I like Penny Press's Variety Crossword books. It has different types of puzzles.
