Il Pochi il Fiero Y Blabbermouths...still making Magic!

I thought he had his tests today....but then again, I could swear now that he said he wasn't having tests again until February. :confused3 Stupid old brain.

By the way.....if you and Sam think you might want to cruise with friends again.......Laura, Dwight, Jay and I will be cruising out of Miami in February 2015......NCL's brand-spanking-new Getaway.:thumbsup2

Gosh a non-Disney Cruise......

It's cold in February.......

MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE -- ALL MINE.....

Wish I had this sooner. Sharon and I just booked a cruise in 2015. It's a Mississippi River Boat cruise tandem bike tour. The bike people have the whole boat and it's all about bike riding. Sound be fun, but not as nice as NCL out of Miami. You don't have to ride bikes all day for your food.

And how come we weren't invited????? HUM??????

Oh yea, we don't tandem....

134 days until our 7 day Eastern :cool1: Just starting to think about excursions. Anyone have any suggestions? I really want to get over to St. John and go to Trunk Bay.Any thoughts?

We stayed in St. Maarten for a week so it was different for us, we had a car and drove it to the ferry and had a day at St. John. Very nice drive around the island. If I were there for a day, I'd take a tour. It is a lot to see, very historical island with a nice museum. Remember the local custom, please say "Good Morning" before anything else such as asking directions. To do otherwise is considered rude....

Happy Planning.....

I am ramping up my vacation planning around the cruise and I am dumbfounded at the price of car rentals! We are going to be staying in Orlando (not Disney property) for a week after the cruise and I'm trying to find "reasonable" rates for rental. Anyone have any suggestions?pixiedust:

Last time I used Budget to/from West Palm to the Port and it wasn't that bad.

It was also 2008....:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks for the heads up on the local custom. Who knew?:confused3

Well. We did not. We rented a car and got lost on the way to the pier. So I see a local businessman. And I say. "Excuse me, where is the pier ". He says "good morning". Ok think I?????? Then provides directions. We get to St. John's and the national park exhibit and learn about the local custom. I had given offense. I did not know. I did not intend. Now I know and it had come on handy when speaking with islanders on my own county. I think it is precious.

I have the most wonderful news to share!!!!

Sam has been discharged from the oncologist....

It was five years ago on St. Patrick's Day when we were in the surgeon's office. He is now cancer-free.

Thank you all for your prayers and support :grouphug::thanks::cloud9:

Sorry I am SOOO late to the party. This is AWESOME news Irene!! pixiedust: That is the best thing in the world to celebrate:cheer2:

Finally went looking for this thread. Irene, that is great news! Happy for you guys!

I recently had my two year check up. Surgeon said recurrence "unlikely" at this point. That's good enough for me!

And a super July 4th post for you.......:cheer2:

Just got back from a 7 day Eastern over 4th of July:cool1: Had an extended verandah room for the first time and I am hooked:thumbsup2

Hate the new 18 month cruise window. Not sure if we can take advantage of the discount with our schedules. Apparently many cruisers are not happy with this new rule. Hope it changes!

Glad you had a great time...NEED details, I need a dash of cruise fun...How were the islands?

What is the scoop on the 18 month cruise window?????

Hi Irene,
Weather was fantastic! Smooth sailing, good servers. The boat was full but it hardly felt like it with the verandah.:thumbsup2

We had done a 7 day Eastern before and this time instead of exploring St. Thomas, Alexa and I took a taxi to the other end of the island and hopped on a ferry to St. John. I found my new favorite island!!!! It was so incredibly beautiful!

This 18 month window sucks! I spoke with the booking agent on board and he said that many people are unhappy with it and they were getting a lot of complaints about it at the beginning but not as much anymore. I told him to put me down on the list of people that this doesn't work for. I also spoke with my travel agent and she said that there is a travel agent convention with Disney soon and a big group of agents plan to voice their concern to Disney:stir::stir::stir: Hope Disney listens because, while I booked a dummy date, I don't think there is any way I can book another cruise within that time frame that matches our schedules.

Anyone else running into that problem? It might as well be 12 months for all the good it does me! I do hope they change that back.

Do you have any cruises booked?

We are heading to the Caribbean in November - Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. Not sure when we booked this on on board, within 18 months, perhaps not.....I had booked this so we could dive but now Sam is not sure about hauling dive gear vs just having fun on shore excursions so I have booked shore excursions and we will decide closer to the date.

We also liked St. Johns - we booked a dive trip to St. Maaten and took a day for a drive around the island. I'd love to go back sometime.

Have fun Irene! I say lighten the load and just do a few excursions. I don't think we will do another Eastern for a while but if we did I wanted to take a drive around either St Maarten or St. Thomas. Let me know how you like it.

Want to hear about cruising, Irene? We just got back from our very first Alaska cruise, and first cruise since 2006. Booked last minute at a very good price while trying to decide what to do about Kevin's 60th birthday on July 23. It was great!

Holland America Westerdam, out of Seattle so didn't have to deal with getting to Vancouver and back. Went to Juneau, Glacier Bay, Sitka, and Ketchikan. Loved whale watching in Juneau (and crab), being close to Margery glacier, walking around Sitka and the Raptor rescue center. Not so crazy about the float plane in Ketchikan. Made me miss Disney cruising but was a great price.

Best of all, it was a special DWTS cruise! We had Kym Johnson, Tristan McManus , and Emma Slater along with Sabrina Bryan, Carson Kressley and a troupe that included one of my favorites from SYTYCD, Anya Garnis. We went to all the classes and shows, and I have a photo with Tristan. He's so cute and funny but is sadly going to the UK show next year.

Now if only I could figure out how to get on a Mediterranean cruise really cheap.

I like hearing about cruisin'. Planning is not as fun without you all on the same ship....congrats on the big 6*0 for Kevin and what a spectacular way to cruise. We did Alaska last year and had a blast - so far to go to get on the ship however....so where do we want to go next?????

Yup, you are right...it is time to lighten the load and do excursions. We may drive around Grand Cayman on our own....I loved our St. Maarten drive for the day. (or is that day for the drive?)

Have fun all!!!!!
