Trying to switch it up a bit for our next trip - any thoughts on the above restaurant in The Swan?

Thanks !!

Agree- amazing Italian. There’s been quite a few threads on here in the past few days about the comparison with other Italian restaurants in Disney and the consensus has been this is probably the best. It’s a great date night type atmosphere and we’ve always had great service.

We had a great experience there on our last trip. I would definitely recommend it.

Super good! Have been there 3x and have had great food and service each time. Enjoy!

We have come close to going here on numerous trips but just never have. One of these days we will get there.

As long as you've never been to the NYC original, it's fine. But pales in comparison...

We went once for dinner on our last trip (in July 2018). This place is SO LOUD. We had two servers and one of them didn’t seem to understand much of what we were saying (for example we’d say we were too full and didn’t want any dessert and he’d smile and bring us dessert spoons, he brought us cocktail refills when we finished our glasses without asking anything, I didn't touch mine and to my shock and surprise it showed up as a charge on the bill, I explained that I'd never asked for a cocktail refill, pointing at my full glass, and they took it off the bill straight away with apologies) so the second server would often come and correct a couple of things (like remove the spoons with a sigh or beg us to please tell the other server that he'd carded us for the cocktails even if he didn't). It was actually funny.

I ordered a mushroom risotto. Now I should say that we’ve got what we considered to be a pretty good Italian place next to us and I’ve had their entire menu and their mushroom risotto many, many times. Il Mulino blew it out of the water easily. This is THE BEST mushroom risotto I’ve EVER had anywhere. Just incredible. It’s so rich and creamy and melty and you can really taste the mushroom as opposed to its mostly being a texture. It was divine. My boyfriend had the spaghetti carbonara and said it was really good. I had a bite and it was EXCELLENT.

It’ll be a hard sell when we go back though as we both thought it was so loud we could barely hear each other and the service was just odd. If you think you can live with that (assuming our experience reflects the level of noise in the restaurant each dinner, but I think we were just unlucky - I suppose it depends on who's dining there), it's delicious, delicious Italian food.

Best i\Italian at WDW by a long shot. Really enjoyed the food and service. Wasn't too crowded when we were there. Very relaxed meal. Definitely going back.

We like it. I do wish they'd change the menu - it's the same as it was when we first ate there in 2011 - but it's got a fairly large selection. I like that they can do half-entrees for some of the pasta since they're far too big for me and I also like some of the appetizers so I don't want a big entree. It's a little more leisurely than Disney restaurants. They don't rush you out of there quite as fast as Disney restaurants probably because there's a lot of conference travellers there, not just vacationers with children. For some, this can be a drawback if you want to get out quickly. For us, it's a bonus since we like to take our time over dining.

It can be loud if it's busy but we've been sometimes when it's not quite as busy so it's not too bad. Plus there are some areas that are slightly separated and hence quieter. Once they put us into a separate small room with just us in it - I presume it's a room that you can reserve for a small private party.
