Has anyone got any experiences of Il Mulino? We love Italian food so are very excited to go there, is it a good meal there?

Also, how is the best way to get there (we will go back to POFQ before dinner from wherever we are that day) and back?

Also also, can anyone tell me some good plans for the area? The minigolf stuff looks good, so maybe a game there and then onto dinner/drinks?

thanks :D

We've done Il Mulino and enjoyed it. We're going back again for Christmas Eve. We haven't had Via Napoli (yet) but it's the best Italian food on property.

We used to stay at POFQ. The best bet is to go to DHS or EPCOT. If you don't have a park ticket, go to DHS and hop on the boat to Swan and Dolphin. If you do have a park ticket, you can also go to EPCOT, walk through and take the boat from the International gateway or walk from EPCOT (around 15 mins).

I'd leave about 1 hr. to 1.5 hrs.

As far as travel time, here's a quick estimate:
POFQ to DHS: ~15 mins
DHS to Swan/Dolphin: ~15-20 mins (or you can walk ~20 mins)
Waiting for boats/buses: ~20 mins

POFQ to EPCOT: ~15 mins
Walking through EPCOT: ~15 mins
Boat or walking from EPCOT: ~15 mins

Whatever you do, don't go to Disney Springs to catch a bus. We took the boat to Disney Springs once, thinking we'd catch the bus. We left ourselves about 1.5 hours and were still late. The bus stopped on the west side, then stopped at Beach & Yacht Club, Boardwalk, etc. before heading to Swan & Dolphin. It was a nightmare.

As far as things to do after...
- You can walk the boardwalk. The new Ample Hills Creamery is there and it'd be cool to grab a cone and sit on the boardwalk.
- We've never done mini golf, but I'm sure it's fun.
- You can head to Disney Springs. They have Splitsville and other entertainment. You can grab a drink at Jock Lindsay's or Boathouse.
- You can go grab a drink in EPCOT if you have a ticket.

I would consider taking a cab to and from the Swan resort.
After dinner, you could also pop into Jelly Rolls (there's a $12 cover fee) or just check out the games and entertainment going on along the boardwalk. We particularly enjoy having a drink on the balcony outside of the Belle Vue lounge at the Boardwalk.

I will look into uber as it will probably save time thanks!

Yeah jelly rolls has been recommended before so that seems like a good bet :)

Good news about the food :D. Were drinks pricey?

Wow thank you for the detailed info it'll come in very useful!!

Just a heads up, the mini golf course that is modeled after a real course is difficult and takes a looonggg time. Do the course with the Fantasia theme instead. Hope you have fun!

Thanks for that. Yeah were definitely more into the fun side of minigolf, not the challenging bit :D

Does the course have much shade? Being from Wales we wont be used to being out in the open for too long in the Florida sun

No, not too much shade. We were there last July, it just seemed to take forever and was soooo hot. I wish we would have played the more themed Fantasia course, but there was quite a wait. Bring water and sunscreen. I hope you have an amazing trip! (Wish I could take a trip to Wales) :)

Thank you!

Wales is beautiful you should definitely come! :)

Ate there last month. It was pretty good. Note - you cannot use your magic band to charge to your room. Be sure to have a credit card or cash.

Oh that's a good point, I hadnt thought of that!!

Jellyrolls is very fun!

Note that if you have a car, Il Mulino validates for free self or valet parking at Swan/Dolphin.

No car, but thanks for the Jellyrolls recommendation. Looks like we'll go there :D
