I'm wondering if anyone has a sense of the length of this refurbishment. I am thinking of an April trip and my favorite ride being available or not is definitely a factor in my decision.

It’s hard to say. I’m planning that it will be open in time for the movie in June but not sure how much before that.

In its current state you would be sorely disappointed.

We went on Sunday and still had fun on it. The regular breakdowns suck, but we had lots of fun, even with the broken effects and replacement snake. On the plus side, we got a few multiple experience passes out of it over the weekend.

Regardless, the refurb will be nice.

If IJ being down is a deal breaker for you then I wouldn't make a plan until a date is announced. We have our fingers crossed for the last week in April as my husband has never been on the ride before.

I hear you though! The Matterhorn has been undergoing refurbishment the last three times I've been to Disneyland. I flat out told my Husband we would cancel our April trip if it went down during out up and coming trip. Haha.

IJ being down is not a deal breaker for me...just part of the equation in my decision. I rode it in November and, like Frechley, still enjoyed it even with all its problems. I appreciate the information and different perspectives.
