igot an S2IS

I've been wanting this camera for so long...my DH saw it at target on sale and got it for me for our anniversary...hes so great! now i have to learn how to use it...cant wait to take all new pics at wdw of all the same things as before, maybe i can even get a good shot of fireworks...

Welcome to the SxIS users club.
Read the manual, tinker around as much as possible. Whatever you do, never take pictures on Auto, much too much noise. And get a tripod for the fireworks pictures.

Congrats! DW has the same and several times I use it instead of my $1000 Canon body and lens.

Congrats on your new baby!!! It's a real user friendly piece of equipment, but I echo what the Judge said - skip the auto feature - If I feel the need to be in anything close to auto I use the P mode and just set my ISO and the AWB (auto white balance). Enjoy!!
