Young Frankenstein: "Igor would you give me a hand with the bags?"
Igor: "Soitanly...you take the blonde and I'll take the one in the toiban"

We plan to resort hop on our next trip.

Will Disney move our bags from hotel to hotel? We will be going from BW to AKL on a Monday.

If not, what do you suggest is the best way to go about this move without causing too much disruption to our schedule.

It is very easy to resort hop, we went from the POFQ to the Poly in the summer, and from the POP to POFQ in December. We called bell services to let them know we needed our luggage picked up and that we were going to another resort. They picked up the luggage, tagged them and advised that they would be at our next resort by 3:00.
We then just went to the parks, and then later in the afternoon went to our new resort and checked in and advised that our luggage was being sent from another resort. We went to our rooms and bell services brought our luggage to our rooms. No problems.

I understand you have to be in your room when they deliver your luggage. Is that true?

I honestly have heard it can go either way. Some have posted experiences where their bags were waiting for them when they returned from the parks, and some have said they had to call bell services once they got back to their room. :confused3 Either way, they'll make it as convenient for you as possible.

BTW, I LOVE the humorous movie quote in your original post! :rotfl:

My experience is based on the word of one CM from FW but she told me that we did not have to be in the room when our bags were delivered. She assured me they would deliver them whenever they showed up (but she implied that getting things from AKL was a slower process than most)

That said, our bags were never delivered while we were out. We checked into FW super early - around 8 am - not anticipating that our cabin would be ready but needing to pick up our key cards with UPHs and silver plan wishes on it. But our cabin *was* ready which was a wonderful surprise! We went on our merry way to MGM, had lunch and returned 4ish. No luggage. Called over to FW guest services and they still didn't have it. It finally showed up just before we were leaving for dinner around 6ish. We really could have used some items from the bags since we had a baby with us (he needed a change of clothes). Since FW isn't one of the more popular resorts to switch to, maybe our experience was an isolated incident? I don't know.

Unless we're not renting a car - and we always will if DH is along - we'll handle our own luggage after that. When it was just DS and I in February, we took a taxi between WL and the Dolphin. It was about $10, easy as pie and well worth it.

Good luck!

Since we checked into the second resort after a day at the parks we just waited for our luggage, it came to the room within 10 to 15 minutes tops.

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Abby someone. Abby who?
Igor: Abby Normal.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Abby Normal?
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.

resort hop quite a bit and i have always had to wait for my luggage.

You may not have to be in your room when they deliver yur bags, but you definitely have to be there when they pick them up. Give Guest Services plenty of notice as to when you want your bags picked up. We had hoped to express checkout, call Guest Services, just leave our bags in the room, hit the parks, and meet up with our luggage at the next resort. Guest Services let us know that there was a 40 minute wait and we would have to stay in the room with our luggage until the bellman came up. Kinda put a damper on our plans.
