We are staying at the BC for the first time (5 nites) at the end of Aug and then moving to the GF for the last 3 nites. My DH doesn't want to change hotels (and we have done that before - twice), but I do have the need to be very close to MK.

We have been staying on the monorail now for quite some time because we love the proximity to MK. I chose the BC because of the closeness to Epcot and MGM.

Is there anyone else out there who feels that need to be close to MK? I'm wondering if I will hate the long bus ride back to BC. We will probably visit MK 4 times.

Thanks,

Anna

I do not feel the need to be close to any park, however I did really enjoy the close proximity of GF to MK. The monorail was great. It was even fun just to ride the monorail around. Also a bonus about the GF is that you could sit outside and watch the fireworks. We could see them from our balcony. Also the electric water parade goes right by GF. It is cute if you have never seen it.

I think splitting your stay between a MK resort and an Epcot resort is a smart idea. Especially when you have children. We always enjoy the boat ride to MK from the MK resorts because it's even faster than the monorail. :) Tell your husband that if you stay at the BC the whole time you are going to get sick to death of those crowded buses from MK stopping at Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, BWI, etc. ;)

This Aug DS13 & I are staying 8nights VWL then switching to 6nights BCV
planning EpCot & MGM each once (at their park openings) while staying at VWL
Planning MK once (late night) while staying at BCV

I have to agree that the buses do get on my nerves at times. A lot of people don't like the CR, but we do and one of the best things about it is coming out of MK after Spectro and just hanging a left and walking home. One time I just left my family at the pool, walked over to MK and shopped for a couple hours. The monorail is a great location if you love MK like I do! :cool1: , so I don't think we'll be sorry switching over to the GF.

Thanks for your opinions.

Anna

We stayed at BC last summer (and loved it!) and stayed at GF for a quick December visit (and loved it, too!) For the very same reasons you describe -- proximity and transportation -- we will definitely split our next stay. The MK-back-to-BC return bus trip did wear on us, but it's funny, I found that in December I did miss that post-Illuminations walk from World Showcase back to BC.

So yes... I understand completely! :goodvibes :teeth:
