If you're not shy... what size pants are you and how much do you weigh?

I'm 5'2" and 135 lbs (when I'm not pregnant.... I'm currently a lot more than that!) and I wear a 6 or 8, depending on the brand. I am a runner, though, so a lot of my weight is leg muscle.

I'm totally frustrated by a lot of sizing, though. Last spring, I tried to put on my favorite pair of capris (Old Navy, size 6, probably about 7 years old - I only wore them a couple months a year, so they were still in good shape) and they were too small in the butt and hips, after having had a baby the year before. Not too surprising. Went to Old Navy to see if I could find something similar to replace them.... and discovered that I'm now a size FOUR in Old Navy pants. Seriously? That's just ridiculous.

I'm 5'8" and weigh 150. I've got no curves, I'm straight up and down. I wear a size 8. I've weighed about the same for the last 2 decades but the clothing sizes keep getting smaller. :rotfl: 20 years ago at the same weight, I wore a size 12.

5'9", 125 pounds, size 4 or 6. Absolutely no rear end or I'm sure I'd wear at least one size bigger.

I just read an article that stated that a size 14 from Sears in 1937 = size 8 in 1967 = size 0 now. I wear the same size pants as I did in HS, but I weigh a whole lot more! :lmao:

I'm 5'4", weigh 140 lbs, most of my pants are a size 7-9 but I have a couple pairs of 5's that fit me quite well. Definitely depends on the pants themselves and the manufacturer.

Are you trying to make us all

I'm 5'4" and 140 and almost all my pants are size 8. All but one... one pair of size 6 jeans that I can still get into. I will never give them up!!!!

Now, I have a closet full of size 6s that are begging to be worn again. I need to lose 10 pounds to do so. Guess I shouldn't have eaten those mozzarella sticks just now. :)

I am 5' and my normal weight is 100lb and I usually wear a 2. But last year I gain a bunch of weight from certain medicines so now I am 120 and wear a 4 and sometimes a 6 depending in the brand.

I'm 5'4" and currently 160. (I tend to gain 10/15 pounds every winter, then drop it in the summer ). I carry my weight in my butt and legs. I would say I wear a 12, but I just bought a new pair without trying them on and they are very loose. I could pull them off without unbuttoning. I'm sure I could wear a 10 now in the current sizing which is completely ridiculous. Twenty years ago in high school I weighed 127 pounds and wore a size 10.

Body shapes seem to determine clothing size more than weight. I'm 5'7" and 185lbs and wear a 12.

But if the sizes are getting - um, is it bigger or smaller? - what happens to the people at the lower end of the scale? My daughter, who is very slender, wears a 0 or occasionally a 2. If the current 0 is what used to be a 14, according to a previous poster, what are the people who would have been a 12, 10, 8, etc. in 1937 wearing? Do we have clothes in negative numbers now? How skinny were these people (because believe me, my size 0 daughter has no fat on her!)?

I don't really care about the number, I just wish there was more consistency. I really tend to shop at one store almost all the time mostly because I know what size I wear there!

I am 5'8", 155 pounds and wear a size 10...at least 90% of the time. I have a very large frame - big hands, big feet, wide shoulders, wide hips...I had 10 pound+ babies naturally. Even when I loose weight, I still wear a 10 in order to pull pants over my hip bones. I'm a little bit heavier now and have hips, butt and b00bs to go along with it...that's where I loose when the weight falls off.

Ok, I will be the first guy to post here I guess.
I am 30(I like to think of it as the first anniversary of my 29th birthday) 5'9, 140lbs soaking wet. :)
Since about grade ten I have been wearing 30x32. I have a hard time finding that size. There is always lots of 34&36 inch waist but very few 30 inch. I have noticed them fitting a bit tighter lately, but they are still comfortable.

One of my sisters is one who can't buy clothes off the rack now that vanity sizing is such an issue. 25 years ago when we were in school she was a size 3/4, now she is a 45 year old woman who is too small for the smallest junior sizes in some stores. She can wear her 10 year old daughter's clothes. Since she doesn't really want to wear clothes made for children she pays to get things altered. She is 5 feet tall and about 95 pounds. She also wears a size 3 shoe and has to buy all her shoes at a speciality shop. It's either that or kids shoes.

I know it is expensive however do you have a Sports Authority around you that is were I went as a kid to get shoes

Was that you with Larry?

*snip*

You caught me!!! :lmao:

5'3" 112 lbs, size 2. It really depends on the manufacturer, style, and body shape - as some posters are same size/one size bigger, but are 3" taller and almost 30lbs heavier than I am?

I don't put much stock in someone's weight. Before I had kids I was 125 and a size 00. Just depends on the muscle amount and how weight is distributed I imagine. My Uncle's ex wife is 5'11 and a size 6 (not sure how much she weighs) - she's essentially got the body of a Victoria Secret model.

I am just shy of 5'3 and weigh 125lbs. I so miss the days of 105! I wear between a 4 - 8 depending on the store and the brand. It also makes a difference in the miss/mrs dept. I gain weight in my hip/behind/thigh area the most.

The worst part for me is that I am not considered Petite or even short. But every pair of pants I buy I have to have hemmed if its a regular. If I try to buy Petites, then they are about 1/2 inch to short by the 2nd wash. It drives me crazy.

Kelly, I am just the same size and shape as you! - 5'2"&3/4 (I call it 5'3") and 125lbs. -and have the exact same problem with pants. UGH. I can't shop in the Petites beacuse the cuts in the blouses are too small in my shoulders and the pants looks great in the dressing rooms (although I have to buy an 8 in Petites) but when I wash them just a few times, their too short. I can get away with continuing to wear them if I wear ballet flats. I do better in Misses - size 6- but then I have to fold up the pants or have them hemmed. I hope to lose a little weight before our vacation. I just want to get rid of some belly flab. My stomach still looks about 4 or 5 months preggo and my "baby" is going to be 5!!!:rotfl:

I weigh about 190 and have worn a size 12 since I was 150 lbs. 14's are too big everywhere but the waist so I have to try everything on!
