If you're not shy... what size pants are you and how much do you weigh?

I think this thread demonstrates why we can't have a standard. :goodvibes We can be the same height and weight and wear different sizes. There was an article being passed around on Facebook about this just recently. Trying to standardize sizes had manufacturer's having to measure a 12" waist difference in woman the same weight and height.

I am 5' 2" tall. I am just over 200 pounds (I vary between 200 and 210). I am currently wearing a size 16w jean. (I did lose over 40 pounds last year but they found me again.)

However, yesterday I wore a size 12s jean (not plus or women's size). I also have current clothes that are between 12s and 18wp.

I do have to wear either short or petite pants because of my height.

The most of my pants are sized either 14s or 16s in both regular sizes and plus sizes.

I'll play. I lost almost 40 lb and have kept it off for nearly 3 years. :woohoo: I'm 5'1", weigh 105 lb, and wear a size 1 or 3 depending on the brand/style.

I'm 5'5 1/2 and weigh 133. I wear an 8 usually but now and then a 6 fits better.

I would love to see women's pants run with a waist/inseam size like men's. I think we would need a hip measurement too, but it would be easier than it is now. I am 5'7" and fluctuate between 125 and 130lbs. I wear anywhere between a 4 and an 8 depending on the brand. My biggest problem is length...I have to buy tall sizes....if I were to get a "regular" length pant, I would need at least a 12 before it is long enough.

I'm about your size: 5'2" tall, 195lbs, and I wear an 18W. But I'm shaped weird or something, because most pants that fit my butt and thighs are always huge in the waist for me. There are only a couple brands that I ever buy that fit both my waist and my butt/thighs without the huge gap in the back of the waist.

The last time I took my 15yo DD shopping (she's 5'2" and 95 lbs), she was commenting that womens pants should be like mens: waist size and length, it would be so much easier (btw, she wears a 14 or 16 in GIRLS clothes, even Juniors 0 are huge on her and miles too long)

Interesting, sizing is so strange! I'm 5'1'' 110 lbs and I wear a 4 petite, 2s are tight and 0 out of the question.

I'm not even sure if a waist/inseam measurement would work. When I buy jeans at Buckle, in some styles I wear a 27" waist and sometimes a 28". :confused3 It's not like I gained an inch in the dressing room, what's up with that?

BTW, we're the same size and with the same length issues when it comes to pants. ;) I've pretty much stopped wearing dress pants completely--the tall sizes always just way too big in the upper thigh and hips for me. I wear dresses and skirts.

I am 5'6" and weigh (as of this morning) 143. I wear a size 8 pant. I usually wear a medium top.

Most likely 2 different rises, meaning they hit you at a different point on your waist. A combination of rise, waist, and inseam measurements would go a long way in standardizing women's sizes. I am so ready for it to happen. Then the only issue would be factory quality control. :rotfl:

I'm the same height and weight as you, and also wear size 18. I have the opposite problem, though, as I am bigger around the middle, so to get pants to fit my tummy, the butt and thighs are too loose. I usually get elastic waist pants or half-elastic waist in order to get a reasonable fit.

Finding clothes that fit is a major pain.

We should share a closet  We have the same measurements :) I have to get the stretchy dress pants, and everything in the butt and legs are huge on me. I wear NY&Co pants in an XL-Petite.

I'm a lot like you, OP. I'm 5'7", between 125-130lb when I'm not pregnant, and typically wear a size 10 in jeans. Sometimes a 12.

I am very, very apple-shaped and carry the vast majority of weight in my stomach. :( I absolutely hate it.

I actually really like my legs and like to wear tighter jeans & pants to show them off, but to get jeans to fit around my waist, they're always way too loose on my legs. The only time it looks like I'm wearing form-fitting pants is when I have jeggings on.

I hear you on the dress pants. I found a great pair a year ago at NY& Co, so I went online when I got home and ordered a light gray and black pair in the same style as the black ones I got at the store. Fortunately, I work from home for the most part, so these 3 great pairs should last a while. I am definately a dress/skirt girl for this very reason though. Jeans are my worst nightmare.:scared1:

I am 5 1/2, 108 lbs- small framed
I wear mostly twos -occasionally a 4 or a 0.

However I have been bigger and my pants size increases rapidly when I put on weight because I gain it all in my waist.

Such crummy luck. I think a big butt is sexy. -I just look matronly when I gain.
I envy women who gain in the chest and behind.

I am 5'6 and around 122-125 pounds. Usually I am a size 4 but with labels that run large, I am a 2. I am pretty healthy and by no means "thin", just normal I guess.

I'm almost 5'8" and weigh around 150. I am a size 8. When I weighed 170 pounds I was a size 10. I could probably fit into a size 6 in pants (I know I fit into a 6 in dresses) but don't want to tempt fate. I'd like to lose ten more pounds. When I was in high school I was about this same height and a little less than 130 pounds and wore a 3/5 in juniors so I guess about a 4 in misses.

Well thanks to vanity sizing I have no idea what my size is, all I know is that pant manufacturers are trying to trick me into thinking I'm a size 4, when I know I really am not.
I recently lost weight, and all of my pants are just a little too big, just about a size too big. I've been around a long time, I know how to judge what size I am (based on the size I have been for the last 8 years or so, which was size 10-12. I tried on size 8 jeans, even bigger than the 10s I was wearing. Then I tried on size 6, still too big. Then size 4, one pair fit okay, one was still a little big.
I walked out of that dressing room cursing, I am not some stupid woman who is fooled by your vanity sizes JC Penney! Just give me the dang size 8 pants in a real size 8 and stop trying to pull one over on me!

Sorry, rant over.

Reading this thread makes me think of how I hate the way jeans sizes are all over the place. Like how my mom gave me a ton of her stuff from the 80's, all different brands, all size 2. They all fit perfectly! Now you can't even walk into any store and expect the same brand to have the same sizing right next to each other. Everything seems to need tailoring now to fit nicely.
