If you're booked on SWA to Orlando, check your fares!

I just randomly happened to check SWA.com today to see what price our flights were at, and they had gone down about $50 each way! Since SWA will credit you the difference in RR points to use for another flight, I now have about 33,000 points to use for another trip! :cool1:

You posting this made me go look at fares; the fares I've been watching but couldn't book due to waiting for the SW points to post to our new credit card just went up by a TON. I was planning on taking my nephews and niece to Disney, but with these prices it won't be possible anymore. I'm very disappointed; other airlines have much better prices, but I had to be able to use the points in order to take them.

Man, I miss the old Southwest.

I just checked my flights from PHL in October and they haven't changed at all.

I've been watching the site for awhile and noticed a drop yesterday, but they are only for flights that are in the near future, 2 months about. Anything in June and beyond is still very expensive (at least from where I live.) I am hoping as my date gets in the 2-3 month range they'll drop more, as long as gas isn't crazy high by then.

Mine went up 50$ x 4 people. I hadn't booked either. I booked the way home but we might need Santa to fly us there

Unfortunately for me, my flights to Orlando the last week of April have not gone down

Thanks for the info- mine from PHX to MCO are still the same. You just never know though.

Bummer! I was hoping it had been across more cities. It must have been one of those Denver only deals. I'll keep my fingers crossed that flights come down for the rest of you soon! It was a totally random thing for me. I got an email from Travelocity saying fares to Orlando had come down, and even though SW doesn't book through Travelocity, I figured I'd check their website and I was pleasantly surprised! They had started creeping up on me lately also, so there's still hope!

Bought seven tickets. Our flights have gone up $200 each. Our tickets would cost $1400 more now...

You go online and rebook. It's very easy. Go in through your existing reservation and choose to "change your reservation."

I always recommend that people book 2 one way flights and not a round trip. Because one leg of the flight may have gone down and the other may go up, so if you try to change it, you won't be saving anything. If you book 2 one way flights and the flight out goes down but the flight back stays the same or goes up, you can rebook just your flight down and bank the credit. If it's purchased as a roundtrip, you can't rebook just one leg of the flight.

Just remember, you must use the credit within 1 year (booked and traveled) of when you originally booked the flight.

Same here. I check every day with Southwest, but I don't expect to see any type of downward movement (if at all) until mid summer.

Forgot to add, the best days to check Southwest are Tuesday-Thursday as these are the days when they typically release their sale fares. You will almost never find a sale over the weekend...perhaps a Ding, but those are rare these days too.

You can change just one way-I have done it many times! When you go in to change flight it asks you which flight you want to change and you can choose the flight to or back from Orlando.I just did it for my parents that are going next month and got them a 100 credit because the flight down went down.:goodvibes

Interesting. It didn't used to let you do that. Thanks for the update!
