If your son (approaching teens) wanted to pierce his ears, would you let him?

Piercings are NOT perminant. They close up. sure. I would let him. Why? because if my daughter wanted hers done I would let her. I had my ears pierced when I was VERY young. (I don't think I was in kindergarten). I've had tehm pierced more since too.

I wouldn't mind even though I might urge him to wait until he's a bit older. I wouldn't let him wear gaudy earrings though.

The piercings do go away after all so I don't see the big deal.

(If you told him no, would you be prepared to risk him 'experimenting' anyway with an unsterile needle in front of a mirror?)

I wouldn't fight over that, it's just not worth it. I'd save my battles for something worth while. Then when I do say no to something, it'll carry more weight. Hair, clothes, & piercings are no big deal--it's all temporary. A tatto, is a no-no till 18. Moral choices are a big deal-- no drugs, no smoking, etc.

No, I would not sign a consent. I might sign one around 16.... preteen is too young IMO.

I don't know it is kind of "girly" isn't it? :rotfl2: Just kidding - after reading some of the replies to the "Real Men wear Pink "thread

I would allow my DS to get his ears pierced in his teens. But then again I let him wear pink too - Oh My :teeth:
