If your heart is in your DREAM ……… a Aug/Sept 2011, NEW - links to dining/trip report

":woohoo: yeah for getting a park ticket. And you plans sound great as well, and PLEASE, don't forget that we need to determine a date and time when we will meet. What about some ice-cream at Beaches and Cream, or maybe having a drink somewhere? "

Karin, we are having lunch on the 9th at WPE, if you could make that or we could meet at Beaches and Cream in the afternoon for icecream. We have never been there. I can't wait! Work has been so stressful, (still waiting to hear about being outsourced), sooo looking forward to our vacation.:yay:

Day 3 sounds great, coolbeans that you are doing the balloon will make for some fantastic pictures :)

Lunch at WPE is ALWAYS okay with us ....... if you have read along here, you'll know that! :lmao:
What about lunch at WPE and going over to Beaches and Cream for dessert?

Hope your work gets sorted out and that you can take it a little easier before you head on vacation!

Thank you, Stefy! We have done the balloon before and even though it is a short ride, it is always a fun one!

Day 3 looks awesome!

Have you done the balloon ride? Ds saw the picture you posted and thought that it would be cool to do while his sister did BBB. Would it? Would a 16 year old boy like it? I am terrified of being up THAT high. I can't even imagine what it would be like.

Your pictures (including the food ones) were great. This time the food ones didn't make me hungry. I think I know why your pics entice me so... I have usually not ate by the time I am reading your threads. Tonight, I had a nice big meal with dd and dd's dh. Still... that mac and cheese has me thinkin :scratchin

I told Mick about our plans to meet and he said it sounds great! We can't wait to see you and Tom again and hear about your Dream cruise! We have friends from work who just went on the Dream with their grandchildren and had a great time with no complaints!!!:woohoo:

Day 3 looks great.

A few years ago they opened a Krispy Kreme in my town. It closed last year but the building is still empty. Every time I drive by it I think of you. I bet if you lived here it would still be in business.

:wave2: Karin, I have always found your dining reports to be a fascinating read, I can't wait for the next installment!

We will have to arrange a meet if at all possible. We will be there Sept 6 thru the 12.

PM me what you plan on doing during those days and I am sure we can arrange a meet - love DISmeets - they are the ultimate fun! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Yes, we have done the Balloon ride before. The photos posted were taken the last time we went.
It would definitely be something Alex would enjoy! It is so much fun and the pilots narrate while you go up.
Ann I had to :rotfl2: when you said that you would be terrified - I was too!!! We tried it years ago when they put up the first balloon in Disneyland Paris and I was SO scared I held on with both hands and was not able to take ONE single photo! :lmao: But the experience itself was amazing (apart from the part that my pulse was racing and I had the feeling my heart was about to jump out of my body! :rotfl2:). We tried it again during our next visit there and I knew what was in store and prepared myself and really enjoyed it.
So when they finally started to install the DTD balloon we were determined to go on it too! And we did and LOVED it! :thumbsup2

Tom and I can't wait to meet you again either! This should be so much fun!

Have you checked out Jen's (jenseib) trip report - she sailed on the DREAM in March/April and has loads of wonderful photos in her thread! :thumbsup2
If you can't find, let me know and I'll PM you the link!

Thank you!
How funny to know that you think of us when driving by your former Krispy Kreme shop. You are the second one this week, who posted that they think of us when driving by a Krispy Kreme shop! :lmao:

:wave2: Karin, I have always found your dining reports to be a fascinating read, I can't wait for the next installment!

Thank you for reading my dining reviews (I just posted and update, btw) and thanks for following along on my pre trip report as well! :goodvibes

Trip planning:

Day 4, August 16

We hope to get up early today. We will grab a bite to eat out of the fridge

0001.jpg

and then head over to

DSC_0309.JPG

the Animal Kingdom for rope drop. We will most likely pick up a FP for Expedition Everest first,

IMG_7351.jpg

then ride it right away and then head over to the Safari to get in line.

If it isn’t too hot we will walk up close to the Tree of Life to take more photos.

Everest will be next. :thumbsup2

IMG_7321.jpg

Around 11am we will share a CS either at Flame Tree

IMG_7346.jpg

or Pizzafari before heading out of the park before it gets too hot.

We will most likely head back to our villa and chill for a while or take a dip in the quiet pool before we head to Disney Hollywood Studios

IMG_8026.jpg

for an early dinner at Mama Melrose.

IMG_7148.jpg

IMG_7153.jpg

We have a Fantasmic Package booked, so after we have enjoyed our dinner we will try to fit in a few rides. If the park is too full we might even hop on a Friendship and ride over to the Boardwalk

IMG_4358.JPG

for a stroll through the resorts and maybe some ice-cream! Once we are back at the studios we will see if we can ride something

DSC_0011.JPG

before we have to get in line for Fantasmic. I hope to be able to pick up and fit in one of their dessert trays, to enjoy before the show starts. After the show we will head back to the car and drive over to Epcot for Extra Magic Hours.

Since we will arrive late we will only have about an hour and a half and we hope that the crowds will have thinned out by then.

IMG_1000.jpg

If we are hungry again by then we will share a CS credit somewhere in World Showcase between rides.

IMG_1765.jpg

We will return back to our villa at around 12.30am and fall into bed.

Days 3 and 4 look great! I have a FDP for my trip too, which I am so excited about, since I was told no availability for the longest time, but I managed to find one on my first night. I'm eating at Mama's too!

Great update Karin !!We have the Fantasmic Package too and this will be a first for Judy and the kids !! Kyle is staying awake longer now he is 9 sooo we are hoping we all can go !!If not I will take Kyle back to the resort and let them enjoy the show !!I believe we get appies with the package is that correct? Also our ressie is 3:50p and I hope steak is served then as that is what they will want !!Kyle will have the kid's mac & cheese and be happy!!

I am pretty sure that the guys are going to do this while dd and I head to BBB. You don't need special reservations for it do you?

Ann I had to :rotfl2: when you said that you would be terrified - I was too!!!

You laugh, but... honestly... when I say terrified to even think about it. Yes, I think I got a sick feeling in my stomach just looking at your pictures. :rotfl:

Forgive me, but I can't remember if you are going to be on the dp for this. I know on it, you get an ap.. and the last time I was there, the antipasto for 2 counted. However, when dd was there last month they would not let her get that. I wonder if there is a new policy regarding the appetizer on the dp/fdp?

I hope to be able to pick up and fit in one of their dessert trays, to enjoy before the show starts.

Dessert tray? Please tell me more. :rotfl:

Wonderful day. It will be fun. I love the frig contents too. But I happen to think it sounds wonderful....after all you wil lbe on vacation...why not eat chocalte for breakfast!

I too was wondering about the dessert tray

Thank you! I love to do all the planning, but then, when we are there, we look at them and mostly just do something else, but at least there IS a plan even if we don't always follow it! :rotfl2:

Those Fantasmic packages are pretty hard to come by. It was one of the first things I booked, as I knew it would be hard to get lateron. We love the Fantasmic Package at Mama's!
Last year we went to the Brown Derby and I felt really odd, being in my park gear and the waiters all dressed up! :rotfl2:

As far as I know we should get appies with our package and I think they have the same menu all day long, so you should be able to get your steaks! :thumbsup2
We have skipped Fantasmic a lot in the past, so I hope we can catch it this time. Now, with Tom's new camera we should be able to get some decent photos!

No, you don't need reservations for the balloon, but a lot of luck! :rotfl2: They only operate the balloon if it is not too windy. So I'll keep my fingers crossed so you'll have a picture perfect day.

Ann, I am not joking, but I HATE heights! I DO understand about terrified, but I have been in situations where I just had to do something "out of my comfort zone" for my pupils and this is why I laughed - I SO KNOW how it feels!

ummm, did you miss the lettuce, the lemons, the cream cheese in my fridge? :rotfl2: I am glad you missed the bottles of beer hidden behind the ghirardelli bag! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We will be on the DDP for this portion of the trip (don't you just love booking with the Disney UK - 42% off the resort AND free dining!) and yes, there should be an appie included in the package. Last time we went the starter for 2 was only allowed if two people actually shared it. Don't know if they changed the policy.

They are offering a dessert tray now for Fantasmic. I read about it in the Disney Food Blog and it looks interesting. ;) :goodvibes

Why does everyone miss the healthy ingredients in my fridge? There is lettuce, there is cream cheese, there are lemons, yip there is some chocolate, and more chocolate and ...... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I posted a link to the dessert trays in the answer above yours! They look pretty good and I cannot wait to try one. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I had read that the wind can cause it to slow and that it happens often. It would be a neat thing for the guys to do, so I too will be keeping my fingers crossed. :goodvibes

It is good to know that I am not the only one to feel a bit outside my comfort level with the height thing. I did, finally, after all the visits to DL and WDW attempt ToT last spring. I was so scared I barely remember getting in the ride. Then... I actually bit my poor dh. I didn't have anything else to wrap around him... so I sunk in my teeth.

ummm, did you miss the lettuce, the lemons, the cream cheese in my fridge? :rotfl2: I am glad you missed the bottles of beer hidden behind the ghirardelli bag! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::lmao: You are right... I do see some lonely lettuce in there. ;)

OMG! don't tell me that! :rotfl: What a discount. :thumbsup2 I guess Disney has to entice you more since you have such a long distance to travel to get to FL... plus customs.. ect.

And... the first time we did fdp... dd was able to get the appie for 2 as her choice. So this last time when she went, she attempted to again and this time they said no.
