If your heart is in your DREAM ……… a Aug/Sept 2011, NEW - links to dining/trip report

Glad you enjoyed the update, I need to update my two trip reports (hopefully tonight) but hope to give you a few hints on how we intend to spend our summer vacation tomorrow. Fingers crossed! :goodvibes

Thank you, Rosie!
I cannot believe you are going to Lake George in just 6 days! :scared1: Where has the time gone!
:woohoo: for getting a new camera! That is exciting isn't it? What camera are you going to get?

Nothing fancy just a little upgrade from the one I have !!I need very simple as I only want to point and shoot !!:rotfl2:The others can use mine in Disney or the cheapos I got them for christmas !!!

Yes I can't believe Lake George has crept up this fast !!I think this is gonna be a lot of fun as 6 of the 10 escorts are friends of mine !! I have lots of chances at some Kooky pix !!As you've seen Dan is definately into Kooky!!!:rotfl2:

Beautiful shots! I am loving all the scenery too. Such beautiful countries.

Are you in Disney on Aug 14? I may be hitting MK that day! (I'm pretty sure you are then, but I forget your dates)

That last meal in Italy looks soooo good! Especially the calamari. I loved those simple meals in Italy - just let the good ingredients shine. :thumbsup2

Yummy prosecco do love that, very refreshing on a nice summers day :)

Can't wait to start eating proper authentic Italian pizzas and pasta dishes :teeth: Wish September would get here already :teeth:

Loving all your photos and how cool is that Peter Pan display, v creative :)

Yummy gelato, esp the strawberry one :)

Looking forward to hearing what your extras are for the cruise :)

Gee, Italians must love Disney! Who knew?! Never saw anything Disney on my trips. The PeterPan/Tink garden was so cute!!

I love your photos, Karin - the desserts look so yummy - especially the strawberry sundae.

While Italy is very nice, as you drive back into Austria it is incredibly lovely and charming, truly beautiful! While I very much enjoyed my trips to Italy, it is not my favorite place I've visited in Europe so far - though I;d go back in a heartbeat!!:thumbsup2

Thank you for taking us along on your weekend holiday! :goodvibes

Looking forward to the latest Disney summer plans! ::yes::

Catching up on updates, Thank you so much for sharing your weekend trip...I love reading about it especially the food. The Calamari looks really good (we had the best calamari when we went a few years ago in Italy).

Hi Karin ,
I have to say OMG how are you able to do such a wounderful PTR and juggle everything else ? i'm so jelous it is hard enough for me trying to put this trip
together and trying to figure everything to do on a first cruise . but i think we will have to go commando on this one too much to see and do and hearing so much that 4 days is not enough for the dream. I kind of skimmed thru your whole thread and i so love all the pictures wish i could learn how to post pictures on a thread wife usuallys does it for me when i ask but i wish she would teach me but are scheduals are backwards . Have a nice weekend and hope to talk soon.

Thank you for taking us along with you to Italy! I loved the trip and the photos.:)

It was my pleasure posting the photos and showing you all the beauty of Europe. We have decided to go back to Italy soon!

Thanks for the updates...the calamari and the gnocchi look so delicious. I've always meant to learn how to make those from scratch, as my aunt always did, and they are the best, but they are a bit of work, so... Your strawberry sundae looked great, as well.

Can't wait to hear about your trip plans. I really wish our dates overlapped even a little. :sad2: Oh well... something tells me they will again...eventually! :goodvibes

Hi Tina!
So sorry to hear about your uncle's passing!

You should definitely try to make gnocci yourself - yip, it is a bit of work, but so worth it - they are better than the storebought ones!

I just spent quite some time putting our summer trip together and will start posting the individual days soon (hopefully get to start tomorrow).

You can't even imagine how much we wish that our trips would overlap! The chance of going to WDW in February 2012 is very slim, but there is always 2013 to look forward too! :thumbsup2

You sound just like me - I use a point and shoot camera too! :rotfl2:
I hope you will have LOADS of fun at Lake George - can't wait for the report and PICS!!!!!!!!

Beautiful shots! I am loving all the scenery too. Such beautiful countries.

Are you in Disney on Aug 14? I may be hitting MK that day! (I'm pretty sure you are then, but I forget your dates)

Thank you, Jen! The Alps are pretty impressive and it was stunning to see the scenery change so much during the drive. :goodvibes

I think I wrote about being at Disney on Aug14 in your thread! We will just arrive the day before and would love to meet up with you!

That last meal in Italy looks soooo good! Especially the calamari. I loved those simple meals in Italy - just let the good ingredients shine. :thumbsup2

We really hit the right restaurant for our last meal in Italy! Once we saw that all the cars had Italian number plates we were sure this was going to be good! ;)
Fresh, homemade food - :cloud9:

Yummy prosecco do love that, very refreshing on a nice summers day :)

Looking back I can't believe HOW MUCH yummy food we consumed during such a short trip! :rotfl2:

You are really going to love real Italian food - it is very tasty. Don't forget to take loads of pics too! :thumbsup2

I want to start posting my "in depth" planning this weekend. So stay tuned! :goodvibes

We have some of the Disney "food items" here too, these were just extras we hadn't seen here before!

Loved my strawberry sundae, but it was HUGE, no way I could finish it! ;)

Glad my photos brought back some memories! Maybe I am biased, but I think Austria is very beautiful ........ ;)

Summer vacation news coming up pretty soon!

Hi Jeff,
So nice that you took the time and checked in here with us!

No more commando trips for us, this is why I enjoy our long summer trips (we are staying in Florida for 4 weeks) so much - there is lots of time to fit everything in and in having an annual pass it really makes it easy to go to a park for just Evening EMH!
Posting photos is easy Jeff! Open a photobucket account, upload the photos from your computer and use the bottom link that will open up when you put your mouse on it! And voila, there is your photo! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to meet you and your lovely family in person on the DREAM!!! :cloud9:

Ok....I don't know why I keep thinking I commented when I didn't...maybe I thought of my comments so much while reading that it felt like I already wrote them out?

What a wonderful weekend you had. Lignano is gorgeous and I love how they converted a busy street into a pedestrian area.

The food looks GREAT as usual. Actually, I was inspired by your TR and went out and bought myself some proscuitto, breadsticks and cherry tomatoes!

It's so cool that you go through the mountains to get there. The terrain is beautiful.

Okay, let’s get this show on the road!

Today is a holiday here, Ascension Day, everything is closed and I finally had time to sit down to finish our itinerary.
So I sat down and played around with it all evening yesterday from 7.30pm until midnight and again today from 6.30 until around midday. And so far I am quite pleased with it.
I changed around a lot of things, added ADRs, dropped ADRs, added a tour and a couple things to our cruise.

So here is quick overview of our

To be honest at the moment I hold a cabana for everyone of our three cruises, but am not sure I will keep them all. There are still 2 months, 1 week and 4 days to decide!

Oh, and you didn’t really expect me to put my cards on the table right now. I just thought I might wet your appetite and I will start posting a day by day itinerary by tomorrow!

WOAH!!!!!!!!!!! What a fabulous list of places to eat at, I'm so excited!!! I can't wait for the food porn already.

Only a little more than 2 months to go!!!!

Wow, 3 cruises on the Dream, plus cabanas! Those look really nice.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!! This will be an amazing trip! I can't wait to read about more plans.. and I will be excited for when you do a TR!

Thank you, Karin! I'd say that 2012 is pretty slim for us, too, although...you never know! :lmao: If you had told me back in February of this year that we'd be going back in July, I probably would have laughed in your face. :rotfl: And here we are!

Your plans look great. I think OKW would be great if we rented a car, but we actually like Disney transportation. :lmao: All I know is that you are planning for one amazing dining review.

Wow! I can't wait to see your daily plans. And live vicariously through you for the cruise.

When you do the back-to-back - do you change rooms - or are you set until the end? I am just thinking through the logistics cause I am strange like that!

Ohmygoodness, ohmygoodness!!! Let me add that I am soooooooooooo jealous - but incredibly happy for you & Tom!!:woohoo:

I can't believe you have 17 ngts at OKW in addition to 11 ngts cruising!! FANTASTIC!!! :cool1:

Even though I've been going to WDW forever - what is the "Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour"? Is this new? Do tell, please!!

And how does one get preferred IllumiNations and Wishes viewing? You can tell my last few trips have been very basic and I never even look for what's new....thinking it's time to catch up!!!:thumbsup2

This is all so very exciting and I am only sorry there is no way I can get away for even 3 ngts while you are there - what fun that would be!! :goodvibes

Like so many others, will keep my fingers crossed that one of these days our paths will cross. ::yes::

I love that everything was closed for the Ascension...I miss those days. Here,. the Catholic schools do not even close anymore.
:(

Great plans!!!! :goodvibes

Okay, I will be back to answer all your comments first thing tomorrow morning but before I head off to bed I wanted to fill you in on the latest summervac8ion news!

We booked our rental car(s) today! :woohoo: :woohoo:
This year we will not park the car at Port Canaveral like last year (having it sit there for 11 days is just not worth it), but return it before the cruise and pick up a new one after it!
With all the expenses we have had this year we have been going back and forth on what to book and decided to stay midsize this trip

...........

...........

until we finally sat down and pulled up all the options today! :lmao:

We have now booked a Hertz rental car from Aug 13 - 21! ..... and guess what, we are going Convertible again! :lmao: :lmao:
And from Sept 1 - 10 we are going to rent another Convertible! It's about 250 Euros more for both cars and Tom decided that he can swing it and that we should just go for it!

I am VERY happy - I love riding in the convertible!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3:

Plus, Tom came up with a "logo" for our vacation as well. I just realized that I don't have the finalized version we worked on for a long time this afternoon, but we will post it soon!

And we have FINALLY decided on our FE gifts.
We went from one larger gift per stateroom, back to our - one small gift for everyone in the stateroom per day! Means we will have to carry about 450 small gifties with us! :scared1:

I'll post Day 1 planning tomorrow - I am too tired for it today!

See ya all in the morning! :grouphug:

Very cool on the convertible!

Please tell me more about the fish extender. I have seen you mention it - and seen the pictures. But I am not sure that I am understanding the whole picture. And 450 gifts? Oh my! What gifts did you give last year - and what are you doing for this trip??
