If your FP ride is down...

You usually seem to get a FP for any other ride (with some restrictions)
Does t just appear in your MDE app? Do you have to go to the ride to get it?
When it's in your MDE, is it also 'in' your magic band? So you could just go
To any ride and scan the band for the anytime FP?
Do you always get an anytime FP? Or could you possibly get nothing?

It will appear in your MDE once your FP window opens (if the ride is down at that time). Depending on what ride goes down, there will be restrictions on the 'anytime' FP. For example, if IASM goes down, you won't be able to use the anytime FP to ride 7DMT.

It should just appear in your MDE. I would usually also get an email about it. You do not need to go to the ride. Nothing is actually "in" your Magic Band. The Band is just a link to your MDE, so if it's there, then you're good.

This just happened to us today. We had an 11:35 FP for POC. It was just shutting down as we approached. I received the following email:

FastPass+ Change Notification

Hello Xxxxxx,

Pirates of the Caribbean is temporarily unavailable. Your FastPass+ selection for 11:25 AM to 12:25 PM on 10/31/2017 has been modified.

You are now eligible for one (1) of the following options:

OPTION 1:
If Pirates of the Caribbean becomes available later, you may visit this experience any time from 11:25 AM on 10/31/2017 through the end of normal attraction operating hours.

—OR—

OPTION 2:
As a replacement to your FastPass+ selection for Pirates of the Caribbean, you may instead visit one (1) of the following FastPass+ experiences anytime from 11:25 AM on 10/31/2017 through the end of normal attraction operating hours.

There is no action needed to select the experience in advance. During the designated day and time, just arrive at the one (1) FastPass+ experience of your choice and touch your MagicBand or Theme Park Ticket to enter!

Valid Theme Park admission is required. FastPass+ selections cannot be redeemed during Extra Magic Hours.

Say you already had a FP+ for Magic Carpets at like 1:30pm-2:30pm... Now that you just received the "replacement anytime FP+) because of PoC being down, if you were to go to Magic Carpets and scan your magicband before 1:30pm, would it use up your replacement FP+? I would think that it would, so in these instances where you want to double up a ride, I would make sure the FP+ window for your originally scheduled FP+ has passed before scanning (like scan your magciband at 1:31pm)- that way your scheduled FP+ gets used up, and you still have your replacement FP+ to use later. IF I understand this correctly....

That’s the way it used to be and I assume still is. If you tap in before or after your window, it will take the anytime FP.

You just walk up to the FP+ line of another attraction that is not restricted and tap your magic band.
