If your favorite park is MK (and you stay Deluxe), would you ever stay at a Deluxe near Epcot, etc?

We very much plan our resorts based upon where we will be spending the most time. When we are will be at Epcot a lot for something like Food and Wine we always stay at BC. If we will be spending a lot of time at MK we will absolutely stay at a monorail resort. Although I prefer the Poly, the Contemporary is where we would stay if spending a lot of time at MK. You just can't beat being able to walk there and back!

I don't know why but Epcot has always been my least favorite park. Magic Kingdom is my favorite.

So to answer your OP.......... YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! :D

We reserved Boardwalk and really enjoyed it in 2016. You are nestled right between Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Walking or a boat ride gets you there. MK & AK are bus rides. It's a boat ride across the water to Yacht & Beach club so there is a lot of entertainment/choices that surround you.

Most food & drink items are outside on the boardwalk....that is my only negative on that resort.
Of course you could also reserve Yacht or Beach and visit Boardwalk.

I would try somewhere you haven't stayed....Good luck no matter what!:flower1:

We love MK, but we’ve stayed at BCV and BWV. If you’re planning to spend the whole day at MK, it’s easy. Take the bus and there you are. We found transportation was fine. When my son was little, I preferred MK resorts so we could take the monorail back at naptime and then go back to MK in the late afternoon. Now, we enjoy the Epcot resorts as well, though GF remains my all-time favorite.

We've stayed at monorail hotels and boardwalk multiple times. Even when our kids where in strollers. Cal me nuts, and apparently some in this thread would with their negative comments about the walk- laughing, but i kind of like to take a leisurely walk from boardwalk to international gateway through epcot then take the epcot monorail to TTC and change to MK monorail. We go often enough that a change is nice.

My absolute favorite park is MK. On our trip this month (9 days) we went to MK probably 5 of those days (for at least a short while). Second favorite park is DHS, then Epcot, with AK last.

Having stayed at all the monorail deluxes, I sometimes want to try the Yacht or Beach club, but worry I will miss the convenience of being near the MK (since we focus mostly on that park).

If you stay Deluxe and you love MK the most, would you stay at a non MK area Deluxe such as AKL, Beach or Yacht, etc?

I need thoughts, struggle with repeating old favorites or trying new Deluxes.
We've stayed at The Beach Club before on a split stay. I think that is the only way it would work for us. Out of 7 days, we go to MK for four days, and Epcot only one day. I'm more interested in swimming in Stormalong Bay than leaving The Beach Club to go to Epcot. During our split stay, we did go to Epcot one day entering on foot through World Showcase, but the whole time we were there, I was dreaming of Stormalong Bay. We eventually got there, but we didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked.

So, we would probably stay in a monorail resort for four or five days, and The Beach Club for two or three days.

This is what I am thinking for sure. What's so great about Stormalong bay?

We just cannot give up the convenience of staying at CR. We love being able to walk back and forth to MK (our favourite park too). Also nothing compares to MK view - walking up to the castle and watching the fireworks from our balcony every night!

The only problem we had on the epcot area was coming home after fireworks. The BC line was insane. We ended up taking the minnie vans 2x. We also tol uber to get to our adrs at the poly and CM. The busses were fine in the am, it was just later in the evening that was horrible. We love epcot but much prefer MK area, specifically the poly.

I have had a TPV from Contemp years ago. It was amazing. How long is the walk to MK? Can you compare it to something for me? For ex, the gates to the MK at where they scan your magic band, to where?

I like MK and Epcot resorts but we really like going to Epcot in the evenings and miss this when staying at a MK resort. This coming trip we are trying a split stay-half at Epcot resort and half at MK resort. Have you thought about a split stay so you can try it for part of your stay?

This is what I have been debating on for this reason.

We stayed at BLT when DS was only 2. We took the monorail to the MK several days before we realized how close it was to walk to the MK. We basically walked through a parking lot, across a road and were right where the busses drop off. It literally took like 2-3 minutes.

I agree with the split stay. We are not fans of MK, Epcot is our favorite park so we stay in the Epcot resorts. Back when we started going to WDW, the only resorts on property were the MK resorts and what is now Shades of Green so we stayed in them. We have stayed in all of them multiple times except WL, for some reason it wasn't on our radar when we were staying there then when the Epcot resorts opened, we started staying there. We now do split stays just about every trip, with just one or two nights in one resort then moving over to Epcot. I would probably stay in the MK resorts more often but I hate having to rely on the monorail to get to Epcot, if they offered a choice or monorail or bus, we would stay there. I'm not a fan of the monorail, we use the boats to get to MK. As far as the issue of moving resorts, it's not really that big of a deal. If you aren't driving and can't pack two suitcases, try using packing cubes. Put the things for resort #1 in certain cubes and #2 in other cubes. Or even just use cubes for #1 and no cubes for #2. Put the dirty clothes back in the cubes when you take them off and problem solved. I always unpack, it just makes me feel better but my son lives out of a suitcase so moving is no problem for him. Since we drive, we just drive to resort #2 in the morning, check in and store our luggage and go to a park. If we are ready to go back to the resort when we get the room ready text we do, but otherwise we just stay in the park until we are ready and head back. You can either go to your room and call down for your luggage and they will bring it up, or stop by bell services and grab it yourself and take it to your room. It depends on where we are staying as to whether we pick it up ourselves. If we are staying at Dolphin, we tend to pick it up ourselves, if one of the other Epcot resorts, we call down for it. They will not deliver it until you call from your room, you have to be in your room. If you aren't driving, Disney will move your luggage for you but from what I understand, it won't be available until after 3 or 4, not sure about that.
