If your favorite park is MK (and you stay Deluxe), would you ever stay at a Deluxe near Epcot, etc?

My absolute favorite park is MK. On our trip this month (9 days) we went to MK probably 5 of those days (for at least a short while). Second favorite park is DHS, then Epcot, with AK last.

Having stayed at all the monorail deluxes, I sometimes want to try the Yacht or Beach club, but worry I will miss the convenience of being near the MK (since we focus mostly on that park).

If you stay Deluxe and you love MK the most, would you stay at a non MK area Deluxe such as AKL, Beach or Yacht, etc?

I need thoughts, struggle with repeating old favorites or trying new Deluxes.

I love MK but enjoy staying at the EPCOT hotels too.

The BW has had great bus service these last trips. The bus has a dedicated MK bus in the AM. Sometimes sharing in the evening and most often just to the BW.

It's so easy to walk to EPCOT and DS from the EPCOT resorts.

I think the MK resorts are great to get to MK, but getting to EPCOT from the GF was a pain. I ended up getting a taxi a couple of times.

I really like AKL, but it is too quiet. We like to be able to walk or catch a monorail to other resorts for dining options and fun nightlife.

Have you tried WL? Still in the MK area, with boat access to MK, but no monorail. It's gorgeous.

If you go to MK that much, honestly, I'd probably stick with the MK area. Traveling from the EP resorts to MK isn't a lot of fun, IMHO. We LOVE the EP resorts, but I would spend every day of my life walking around EP if I could, so staying over there is a no-brainer for me!

WL was our next stay. Only thing I have an issue with is I have a stroller so I don't want to remove my child from there (like the monorail ease). And the other downer is no fireworks view from WL, but yes, it was our next stay.

We like YC. If you don’t like AK, I wouldn’t stay at AKL. It’s remote and not near other resorts like the MK or Epcot resorts are. So easy to get to other resorts for dining.
We love AK, IMO it’s the best themed park in WDW. Beautiful. I love walking around taking in all the lush beautiful theming and their attention to detail.

Stay at Wilderness. The boat back and forth is way better than the monorail, and doesn’t break down like the monorail.

Having said that, anywhere else you stay will have you bussing it to MK which may annoy you.

We prefer the MK resorts (any of them) by far. That said, we go often and do like to change things up and so have no problem staying over on the Epcot side every now and then. TBH though, AKL's relatively remote location has kept us from staying over there despite really wanting to experience the resort.

Mk is our favorite park and we are staying at beach club on our next trip. I like the pool better at beach club and we were able to get a great price through a ta.

If BC/YC is on your list, I'd give it a try. We choose our resort by theme/decor/atmosphere rather than convenience/transportation, so I wouldn't hesitate to try a new resort that appealed to me, even if it wasn't the most convenient to my favorite park. Good luck! :)

OH i assumed this is what I would be doing. I hate the busses and they are not convenient with a child in a stroller.

True, but switching monorails means double the lines, one at Epcot & one at the TC. Plus, you would walk into Epcot at IG, then out the main entrance then up the monorail ramp just to start your journey to MK? No way - the inconvenience of the bus would save 45-60 minutes. I couldn’t go through all that just to avoid the bus. Plus, you said MK was your favorite park, so this means doing this more than once. And, on the front & back ends of a day. Ick.

Have you thought about doing a split stay? You could focus on Epcot and Hollywood Studios when staying at an Epcot resort and then focus on Magic Kingdom at the Magic Kingdom resort. I love being able to walk to two parks from the Epcot resorts, although I do think my favorites are the monorail resorts. With a nine night stay you'd definitely have time to divide your time between two resorts.

Like you, our favourite park is MK but we like the YC & have stayed there on our last two trips & have just booked to stay there again next year.
We really don't find the distance to the MK a huge issue, the bus service is usually good & if you don't fancy that, it's a quick walk through Epcot to pick up the monorail, we also used the Mini van service last year which was a fun thing to do.
The area around the YC is lovely & it's nice to be able to walk to Epcot & HS if you want, DS & AK are also just a short bus, car or uber ride away.

This is a hike just to ride the monorail, and there is no way I would do it. As pointed out upthread, you will be walking to Epcot, and then walking from one end of that park to the other, and then out to the monorail. You then change trains at the TT&C to the MK, and then off to the MK. Nope.

I love the BC, and I love the Epcot resorts, however unless I was going to be using the amenities and the "perks" in that area, i would not stay there. In your case I would choose a MK resort. If you want a change, look over to WIlderness Lodge. It has the benefit of the boat transportation to the MK, and you wodul also be able to use them to go to the the CR, which is a nice ride. I feel that if your preference is MK, and you want to just push the stroller on and off for some of your touring, you will be very resentful by the end of your stay.

I’d certainty say five staying the the Epcot resorts a try. As long as you’re not trying to make MK for rope drop, I find the walk through Epcot to the monorail enjoyable. I also like that there is much more to do, easier around the Epcot resorts. BC/YC, BW, Swan, & Dolphin are all easy walks. The boardwalk has a fair bit going on, escpually at night (including outdoor performers for the kids). Fantasia mini golf is across the street, and BB is only a few minutes ride down the road.

Our favorite parks are MK and Epcot. We have been getting 5 day park hoppers and basically spend one morning at AK and one at DHS. So for us the Poly is our resort choice. I asked my dh if he wanted to do a split stay when we went in 2013 and he said no. I asked him Again for our upcoming trip in August and he said sure. So we will do the BC for 5 nights followed by the Poly for 5 nights. We can do the studios while at the BC and that will be one less bus (I love the boats).

Yes. Epcot is our favorite, but we stay at MK resorts as well sometimes for shorter trips and also at AKL (we don't always stay deluxe though, we go multiple times a year so sometimes stay at Pop or mods). BC is our favorite and where we spend most of our nights on our longer summer trips.

Duh, why didn't I realize that???? It never occurred to me that I had to walk through Epcot to get to the monorail, but yes, now I get it. Thanks! That's impossible. I just was reversing what I normally do to get to Epcot for some reason. You are right, it would have to be bus.
