The wife and I were discussing retirement the other day: If we ever move to Orlando (retire) and work for Disney what would we want to do. I still haven't come up with a good answer.
What would you guys want to do?

My hubby and I discuss this same thing frequently. Since I'm past the age that I could play Snow White, I realize I'd have to settle on something else. I would love to be a Fairy Godmother in Training. I think that would be so much fun. But ultimately, I would love to work somewhere on Main Street USA so I could see all those people's faces when they first walk into Magic Kingdom in the mornings. Wouldn't it be great to see the magic through so many people's eyes?

***If I was 15 years younger (maybe not even that much), I would totally wish to be Snow White. She's my favorite.***

I'd like to be in Jim Lewis' shoes for a month or so;)

im a realtor, think it would be fun to be a DVC guide; most i've seen don't appear to be retirement age though. Working as a concierge would be interesting:)

since i'm an RN i have looked up the nurse jobs at the world before. I used to work at our local Six Flags while i was in college and it was fun. i worked the the rides and ended up being as Asst. Foreman of a couple. But i think that i would enjoy just about anything there right now. lol

So funny- I was just thinking about this the other day! I would LOVE to be a photopass photographer- I would be one of the ones jumping around, getting everyone to do all kinds of crazy poses to make the most of their magical vacations. :rotfl:

I would like to work in the gift shops - heat in the winter and ac in the summer:lmao:

I would like to set up the fireworks for the Magic Kingdom. I suppose I'd have to know something about pyrotechnics...we'll have to work on that. :)

I'd totally work at the Confectionary at the MK. I have a friend that did that after college and said it was fun. I'd probably gain too much weight eating all those chocolate covered rice krispes though.

I agree with the a/c and heat comment though. :thumbsup2

I think I'd like to work in one of the IPO's. Before we joined DVC, I had the pleasure of planning a very special first trip to Disney for my kids and we stayed Club Level at Beach Club. The IPO helped me pull off some very special surprises for my kids and I would love to do the same for other families.

If you are talking about right now (not when I retire), I'd love to be Tinkerbell flying from the castle....even though my husband says I could never do it since I'm usually afraid of heights. I think pixie dust could fix that. Besides, I think I could overcome that fear to be Tinkerbell!! If I couldn't do that, or when I retire, I'd love to do something with the Vacation Clubs. However, if I'm working at/for Disney World I won't be overly picky for any job!!

I'd sweep up after the horses that pull the trolley on Main Street!

oh...wait a minute...I do that now!
:sad2:

The original lady at Disneyland that was Tinkerbell flying from the Matterhorn to Tomorrowland was in her 80's before she retired! :wizard:

I used to say I would go back to sewing the names on the Mickey Mouse ears but they retired those old machines. I would say vacation planning. I could plan a lot of really nice vacations for people! :cloud9:

I would want to work at the Wedding Pavilion organizing Weddings ... DH says he would like to be a captain of the boat from Wilderness Lodge to WDW or the ones that run from Epcot/HS and Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk etc...

Secret Shopper might be nice. Get to try out the resorts and restaurants and tell them what works and what doesn't.

:) I would be "Lucretia, the friendly greeter at AKV" ..I would say "Jambo, every one and welcome to Kidani (or Jambo)"...all day long....over and over...big smile ...friendly conversation...have my pic taken with thousands of people. Like the famous Art at BCV (I think)...and from time to time I could grant special "wishes" or happy's to people.:cloud9:

DH could stand with me and be "Todd, Lord of the Apes" and just grunt from time to time.....picturing him in a loin cloth now....he is so cute.

I also have the physique to be a real life Ursala on a float.

Since I work in the IT field I would like to be an Imagineer. Having a job that your sole purpose is to dream up fun things for people to do. What could be better.:smickey:

Me and DH have been talking and dreaming of some day living down there. And if we could get jobs at Disney he wants to drive a boat and I want to be the person selling balloons on Main Street USA! I mean how cool. Getting to hold a big hand full of balloons and seeing the expectant and excited faces of children all day. I could go do this tomorrow.

Me and husband also talk about this...he would want to work on the computers in a office (WHAT????) and I would want to be a character handler or selling something during the parades....oh to dream....

transportation - either buses, boats or monrail.

failing that - maybe front desk at one of the resorts.

would love to work for the florist - but my allergies would interfer with that one
