Just curious to see if there's a pattern to balcony seating at HDDR. I know I've heard the earlier you book the better your seat, and sometimes the earlier you check in the better your seat...whatever. I'm wondering if balcony seating has anything to do with party size. Help me out...if you've been in the balcony let me know your party size and if you booked early or late.

Early booking...prior to 3 months in advance
Late booking...within 3 months of trip

Thanks! :sunny:

We booked as early as we could. We also checked in early. The seat was terrible, in the balcony, and we could hardly see. It was our anniversary and we decided to leave, rather than pay all that money and have such a horrible table. We told the waitor why we were leaving, and magically a table opened up right in front of the stage, and we were even called up to announce our anniversary. This was several years ago, and I've never taken a chance since..we just won't go there again.

We were supposed to go on Sat., Aug. 14, '04. However, Hurricane Charley checked in and subsequently closed down the Fort Wilderness area. We had booked about 10 months in advance. So, we had to rebook...for the following week. We ended up in the balcony. We were very early checking in, maybe third or fourth. So, that certainly didn't help. We are going again for my dd's 13th b-day in Oct. I have had it booked since last winter since we are traveling with another mom and her dd who is also celebrating her 13th two days later. I also would wonder if the show you go to makes a difference. We went to the middle show in '04. We have the late show booked in Oct. If we don't have a table in the front I'm going to be a bit peeved!!

I've been in the balcony when I've booked well in advance and when I've booked within the same week.

FWIW, the last time we went to HDDR, we booked the same day for the 7:15 show and got the front and center table, right in front of the stage. And it was a very full show...most tables, including the balcony, were filled.

I've had the balcony both times, and didn't mind it at all. Still included in all the fun, and birthday wishes (much to the chagrin of my DS, who was 13 at the time). Booked at around 3 months both times.

I agree with UrsulasShadow....we had the balcony both times and loved it up there. The cast comes up and interacts just like on the floor. Actually, it suited my slightly shy DH better up there...he felt safer! But he was wrong!!!

We had a party of 3 for the middle show in June 2004 and June 2005. For June 2004 we booked early, and for June 2005 we booked late.

Thanks for the responses so far! It's looking like 2 to 1 for late booking landing you in the balcony. Party size doesn't seem to matter much. I'm kind of surprised that so many who booked early ended up in the balcony though.

We were a party of 3 that booked late and ended up in the balcony (7:15p show)! When I made the ressie I was told they were almost sold out (last year the week before Easter)! The balcony was fine though! :rotfl: We were on the right side mid-way down and had a great view! :Pinkbounc We were okay with it! :rotfl: In fact, :rotfl: really enjoyed it!
