If you were going to stay on "the monorail line" which resort would you stay at? Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Polynesian?

Lily

We love Comptemporary. We stayed in September and there is a lot of construction going on inside of the resort. If you are going to pay the big bucks, you may want to think about staying at another place.

We loved the Poly. It was so relaxing and beautiful. Monorail to Epcot was a great convenience as well.

I've only stayed at the CR, but I really don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

We were originally doing the Contemporary in a Bay View Tower room for 9/26 through 10/5/2008. We just switched to a Polynesian Garden View...we want to avoid the construction at the Contemporary and we really wanted a Magic Kingdom view, which wasn't available.

Now our plans are the Contemporary for Christmas season (early December 2009) and do a Magic Kingdom View then. :)

Anyone of them would be great, but if I had to pick one...it would be the Poly. We had a great time there.
The only one we haven't stayed at is the Contemp. The Grand Flo was fun but the best was the Poly!

We plan on staying at the Polynesian. I have never stayed at a Disney Resort, and this is the last time we will be going for awhile so I figured that we were going to be going out in style.

It COMPLETELY depends on your tastes. The Poly gets rave reviews on this site. I doubt I'll ever stay there, though, (using my own money, anyway) because the tropical theme holds NO appeal to us.

The GF feels a bit "ritzy" and "froofy" (as my husband says).

The CR is just that.

I don't think service-wise that any of the three is that much better or different than the other. It comes down to whether you want tropical, froofy or contemporary surroundings on your stay.

One more thought....you can walk to the MK from CR and can walk to TTC from the Poly. That might help in deciding as well.

POLY all the way!!!! Great staff, fantastic pool, good food, beautiful dock, boat AND monorail transportation...and the rooms are really comfortable! :cheer2: Cindy

Polynesian. Not only do you have the added bonus of being within walking distance of the Epcot monorail also, but if you have a car, the parking lot is probably the closest to the entrance of any of the Disney resorts.

We just had this debate at home and decided to book at the Poly, again. It's a wonderful resort and close to everything. Plus, we love all of the dining options, including counter service. Our ds  the volcano pool and dh is crazy about the concierge lounge. It has a wonderfully, relaxing atmosphere and everything is beautiful. :beach:

Polynesian would win by a landslide with us. We love it there. We've stayed at Contemporary a few times, but it just doesn't hold the same appeal for us. Have never stayed at GF and have no desire to do so.

My vote goes to the Contemporary Magic Kingdom view. I mean how can you say no to looking at this everyday?

Break out the tiki wear and enjoy a true vacation at the Polynesian. It is a true oasis in the midst of the enjoyable mayhem that we all embrace at WDW.

I completely agree :thumbsup2
They are all fabulous resorts so it just depends on what theme appeals to you most.

Personally, if I had all the money in the world, I would do a deluxe room of some sort at GF, Magic Kingdom view:cloud9: But that's just because I love the elegant theming here. I would definately feel like a princess staying at the GF!princess:

I've only stayed at CR on the monorail. We had a north garden wing room with a MK view. The walk back in the evening from MK was 5 min. The DS's and I loved that concept. That said, the north garden wing is no longer around.

We've stayed at all three but I'd vote for CR because of the walk to MK.
