If you were at Philharmagic early this afternoon

and you saw a woman passout.. That was my mom. She s in Celebration Hospital now for overnight monitoring. She seemed ina good mood and thinks shes fine, but I am glad they are keeping watch on her.

She said it came on suddenly and then she just kinda fell back and lightly banged her head. My sister was with her and is keeping me updated. My mom has a few health issues she has had all her life but never passed out. The first thing they thought was she might be overheated or dehydrated but they were only there 2 hours and had 3 cold drinks each in that time.

I had a giggle because this is so my family. They were excited to see a bit behind the scenes. My mom when she got to the hospital and called me told me she had a "scancastle" I was like "what?" . She said " Yeah I went down a hallway and they had all these pictures of Disney princess characters and then I smelled tanning oil and I went into a sand castle for my MRI and they played beach music and you could sit in beach chairs."

I had to look it up online and ask my sister if my mom hit her head to hard. lol And I guess its all true. Sounds like a cool hospital. I guess if you have to drink barium you can sit in a beach chair and they even put a little paper umbrella in it. lol Hospitals are yucky places but I am at least glad they are in a nice one.

They are going to do her labs every 6 six hours. Hopefully its just leftover stress from the move down there. I know she was really stressed out with that and she tends to react afterward not during.

She is actually not on vacation. They just moved to Celebration about 2 months ago. My sister is pursuing a career in entertainment with Disney. They were so excited to be going into Mk with their annual passes for the first time. I told my mom she had to try Philhar since she has never been and is not much of a ride person. She told me thats the last time she will try to see that! lol

What a terrible first experience at such a fun attraction. Glad she's doing better. As for the hospital, I unfortunately have been there. My niece needed to visit there twice on our last vacation. I brought her up to the catscan beach/character area while my H and mom sat downstairs. They didn't believe me either and totally wanted to see it. I guess if you have to go there, it's certainly nice to have a fun atmosphere.

Sounds like you know how scary it is then. I did a few years ago myself. My heart just stopped for a bit. Scary. Never happened again. Sadly they usually never find out. My mom never had intiltoday. I am suprised she is so calm.

I will be joining them shortly. My mom was dead set against celebration at first . Now she loves it . lol Rent is so high there , not to mention the purchase prices. But when you live near Orlando, the safety is worth it ,even if we have to downsize.

They had given her Crestor, Lopressor Metatope and performed a few more EKG's also.

Then a few minutes ago they gave her another CAT scan with iodine contrast to check her lungs. I am hearing everything second hand from my sister but she said something about possible blood clot issues possibly.

My mom has had a major blood clot in her leg years ago. She also has a super rare heart defect that she has managed all her life. She just takes a beta blocker for that though. I dont know if any of that means anything but it makes me a bit more concerned.

Nice of you to post this. I called 911 for someone a couple weeks ago and I willl never know the outcome. I just keep hoping they are ok and there is no way to find out.

Cinderella73, I will keep your mom in my prayers! I'm hoping that maybe it's all the stress after all. It makes sense that sometimes people manage stress just fine throughout the time when they need to and then have a delayed reaction to it after the fact. I personally have experienced this and know others that have too.

Hope your mom is okay!! But it really is a nice hospital. I fell and hurt my arm pretty bad on our recent trip so I had to go to the ER to take xrays and such. It was one of the nicest hospitals I've ever been to. The pre xray room had lots of sea type art on the wall, it was really nice. Plus the lobby and ER room were very nice. I joked with my family and friends at home because they think we've done everything we can at Disney and have no idea why we go back a few times a year, so I said this trip was a new adventure, I never did the ambulance ride or the hospital excursion before
