If you were 4 years old and could pick any WDW resort hotel to stay at which would it be and why.

I work with 4 year olds and they would definately pick ASMO. You just can't beat the huge colorful icons.

The Boardwalk Inn (with a boardwalk view). Hands down one of the nicest resorts. It's elegant, it has a gorgeous view, and you can always sit out on the balcony and watch the Boardwalk entertainment when its going on. Plus, you can't go wrong with that 200-ft slide!

My 3 almost 4 year old would say ASMo. Andy's Room alone could give him hours of playtime.

I agree that a 4 year old would most like the ASMovies or even POP Century the best. POP has some great icons from movies like the All Stars - maybe you could base it on which characters/movies they enjoy the most?

HTH! :)

MY almost 4 YO's favorite resort is BW. He loves the clown slide at Luna Park!!!

My then 4.5 yo loved our stay at WL. My 5.5 yo loved our stay at CR, concierge.

Wherever the *parents* are happy, the child shall be happy. Especially at 4, they just want to be with Mom & Dad. ::yes::

I just asked DS, 4 and his answer was All Star Sports...but he is a huge sports freak, so his opinion may be biased. ;)

I agree with Kimberle. If I were 4, I'd sleep in a cardboard box if I could go to Disney World when I woke up. I think the resort choice needs to be the one that is most convenient for the parents. My 4 year old loved our stay this summer at the Swan, which is not considered a kid oriented resort. He keeps asking to go back to the "hotel," not WDW, but the Swan. The Swan/Dolphin location is so good that we could go to the parks for just a couple of hours at a time. It was so easy to go back and forth from the parks to the hotel, and a well-rested 4 year old is a happy 4 year old. You save a lot of time of travel time.

I would choose either a monorail resort or an Epcot area resort for the location. Contemporary would be cool because of the monorail going through the hotel. Poly sounds like fun for all ages. BW has a fun playground, the clown pool, and a community room. I love the Epcot area resorts so I can walk to Epcot and take a short boat ride to MGM. My kids think the boat is another park ride. Like I said, Swan/Dolphin is where we stay because of the location and their discounts make them more affordable than the other deluxes. The grotto pool and play ground at S/D are both great too. Our bus service from the Swan to the MK was excellent this summer. The bus went directly to the park after picking up at the Dolphin.

I stay away from the value and moderate resorts because of the how spread out they are and the long waits for the busses. We didn't rent a car at all, so that helped offset the higher cost at the swan. My son saw a picture of the giant Play dough at All Stars and said he wanted to go there. We went to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground at MGM where they have a giant playdough can and he never asked to go to All Stars again.

If you haven't done so already, look at allearsnet.com for pictures of the resorts. Disboard also has a section where people rate and review the resorts.

One off the beaten track option to consider is the Fort Wilderness cabins. A chance to go "camping" with mom and dad, campfire songs, movies, marshmallos, plus a big kitchen so all your 4-year old foods and stuff can be prepared to order.

Otherwise, gender might matter a little on this one. For example, if you happen to be a little boy who likes trains, it doesn't get much better than the tower at the contemporary. (Girls too, of course, but 4 year old boys seem to be much more likely to have this affliction.)

I too would pick a EPCOT or monorrail resort.....

my 4 yo LOVED the BC.....great time in the pool...thought the resort was "beautiful and fancy"...she felt very special....soooo convinient to walk to EPCOT as we did several very short visits there instead of a whole day...boat to MGM very cool.....buses quick and convinient to MK....

?how much time will you be in the resort is the question, with a 4 yo lots of time spent in the parks....think about the transportation as they will like the resort the best that they don't have to wait in a huge line at the end of the day when they are tired and cranky!!

Believe it or not my kids loved GF. The monorail, the pools, the beach and all the kids activities made it the perfect spot for kids. If we weren't able to stay there I might choose All Star Movies just for the theming. In reality I think a 4 year old would love any DIsney Hotel.

Ofcourse, if she's a princess then she will like the luxury of the Grand Floridan :p

when I was a lot younger I always wanted to stay at the Poly, and now that I finally have been able too I know I would have loved it back then...shucks I love it now!

My vote goes for Polynesian for its fun atmosphere/monorail or Boardwalk for its location and 'awesomeness' (for lack of a better word, hehe)

I agree about the Moderate/Value resorts, the location can be a bit of a problem when it comes to transportation. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach with two youngins and oh boy it was a hassle with all those bus stops! (dont get me wrong, the resort was great and the kids LOVED the pool)

my 2 cents

Both of my DS's would vote for the Contemporary----riding the monorail right through the lobby is just too cool for train-loving little boys.

And, you can't beat the location :)

if I was 4 I would want to stay at Cinderella's castle. Actually I am 27 and still want to stay there!! but since thats not an option i think POP would look cool to a 4 year old. My DH and I are thinking of taking our nephew there when he is 5 and I thought he would like that resort. With all the big icons and the bright colors it just screams FUN at me :).

Now my DH likes to stay at the deluxe hotels. But he would only be of help for someone who wanted to know what 12 year old boys like:rolleyes: My 31 year old hubby still likes star wars toys . lol

Beautifully stated! Just as, "home is where the heart is" (so lies the child's favorite resort...wherever the memories await to be made, with "mom & dad"...hand in hand...). :goodvibes

hahaha your husband seems cool to me!

We just got back from POFQ and my 4 yr old daughter loved it! Actually she got really mad whenever we even suggested staying anywhere else. She just loved the "dragon slide"! It also is very compact and we had no problems whatsoever with the bus transportation. They always seemed to be there waiting on US.
